Zhuric Phelps went off last night in A&M's win at Oklahoma. In Wade Taylor's absence Phelps scored 34 points in 32 minutes hitting 11-25 FGs including 6-10 threes and 6-6 FTs. He also had 5 rebounds and 3 steals to go along with one assist and 2 turnovers, by far his best game of the season to date

Virginia loses to Cal in late night ACC action and the Cavs shot only 19-58 from the floor. I'm headed to Charlottesville next week to watch our rematch with Virginia and with both teams shooting so poorly right now I'm not sure what to expect other than a low scoring game. Let's just beat Ga Tech and find our shooting touches again!

Jefferson Koulibaly started and played 40 minutes before fouling out in Pacific's 95-94 OT win against his former team Washington State. He had 11 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals. He's averaging 7.8 points and getting 28 minutes so it's good he finally found a place where he can play

I flipped over after our game, and that was a big win for Stanford. I think they said it was their first win against NC ever playing 13 times.

Don't know if anyone noticed but Wake beat UNC last night. I just hope this SMU team can play well (and shoot well) enough to beat a team like Wake or Clemson that is sitting above us in the ACC standings
Trivia question: when was the last time an unranked SMU team beat a ranked team in Moody?

Had to look this one up. It wasn't that long ago and occurred during the 2021-22 season when we beat # 6/7 Houston 85-83 in front of 5,247. That was Jankovich's team that went 24-9 and featured Kendric Davis, Marcus & Michael Weathers, Bandoumel, Nutall, Phelps, Tristan Clark, Todorovic, Agunanne, et al. That team had gone 16-0 in Moody before losing to Washington State in the 2nd round of the NIT, which at the time was disappointing because that team was a #1 seed and favored to make it to MSG for the NIT Final Four. That, of course was Jank's last season at SMU
