Credit Gilbert. If we're gonna beat up on him when things go bad, we ought to hug his neck when he plays well and he played well today.

I was concerned at the start of the second half.. but Gilbert relaxed, loosened up, got into the natural flow of spontaneous reaction.. hang loose and let it flow...

He can be All-World if he can let that happen. He's got all the physical tools. I hope it's the beginning of something special for him.

Gilbert actually reminded me a little bit of Colt Brennan... I think this game will give him a tremendous boost in self confidence as well as it will his receivers...

I missed the first half but from what I saw in he second, G2 and the Offense really were clicking and played very well. The defense after Memphis first drive of he 2nd half shut them down. Maybe the offense is finally in sync. Yes it was Memphis but SMU did what they were suppose to do against a team like Memphis, dominate both sides of the ball.
Hopefully we get the same type of performance next week against a good UCF team.

On a side note, it was kinda cool to see baseball great Mike Maddux at the game today. Stayed the whole game and seemed to enjoy himself.
