No doubt. And listening to the game coming in and out at 40,000 feet really adds to that indigestion! We need to get tight parameter D and stop this rain of 3s.Arkpony wrote:Agreed Ponyte but it doesn't help my digestion one bit!

Re: Official: AAC Tournament Thread - SMU vs. Memphis/Temple
didn't see the game today but the trend of defending the 3s is troublesome. I think the fact they hit so well throughout the game is because we adjust too late and let them find a rhythm from the beginning. that is why they make crazy shots at the end of games because their confidence is sky high.
defend closer to the 3 and not let them find their rhythm, and they won't be hitting crazy 3s later in them game. we have the bigs to protect the basket without needing NM or Sterling to play too close to them. Guard against the 3s damnit!

Re: Official: AAC Tournament Thread - SMU vs. Memphis/Temple
The bright spot was pretty fabulous interior passing. Ben Moore was chewing ECU's zone defense up at the top of the left lane. Led to an extremely high numbers of 2 foot shoots and/or fouls (some of which we missed of course). Manual attacked there too. Brown and N. Moore also did well passing -only 9 Turnovers is fabulous considering how well we passed the ball into traffic. Someone said it doesn't matter if they hit 15 3s [deleted] take a look at the scoreboard-it mattered more because they hit those shots. SMU would have lost without some good offensive interior passing

We are experiencing the single greatest sports season in 25 plus years in smu history. Just enjoy it. Jesus step away from the ledge. B Moore played well indeed. For us to go deep we need both bens to get their confidence going. 1 Ben down 1 to go.

Most telling and most damning stat. I love LB like everyone else but the college game is just so different from the NBA.indianmustang wrote:MoSt 3 points made against smu this year and 3rd most in smu history

Other things that SMU did well
11 steals which is outstanding
Won rebounds by 7 which was the offensive rebound margin as well
Yes they hit a high number of 3 but some are seemingly suggesting we played like crap in all phases. That's BS-there were many positives that allowed us to beat a red hot team-something last year's team didn't do

So we've just so happened to run into 3 "red hot" shooting teams in a row? We are a poor perimeter defensive team that won't adjust.Stallion wrote:Other things that SMU did well

Yes its good to win but the bar for this program should be higher than squeaking out wins against the dregs of The American. Thankfully MK and Nic showed some leadership and poise down the stretch.

Well the first time we played ECU they shot 11 for 30 so I would say yes... Today they shot extremely above average and probably the best they had all season and it still wasn't enough to beat us.StallionsModelT wrote:So we've just so happened to run into 3 "red hot" shooting teams in a row? Re: Official: AAC Tournament Thread - SMU vs. Memphis/Temple
Most on this board expected a blowout win against a vastly inferior opponent. The 3 point defense is disturbing and is a trend. If you want to be satisfied with nailbiters against ECU be my guest. I'm hoping that LB and the team are not happy with their performance and will work hard to correct the glaring errors.smu2004 wrote:Ur freaking out; don't post for a few hours.StallionsModelT wrote:So we've just so happened to run into 3 "red hot" shooting teams in a row? Didn't No. 1 seed SMU lose to Texas A&M and Tony Barone in the opening game of the 1993 SWC Tournament. This is better
