I hope this knee thing doesn't F up his draft preparation.

After watching Houston today, I was very confident of SMU chances this Friday.
Now, with Garrett out, it's anybody's guess. Not dissing Burcham at all, I think he gained valuable experience today, and played well especially oconsidering this was his first extended action. So glad he took snaps this week.
What a relief!

We need to focus more on that Freshman from Georgia because from what I saw we are in big trouble next year with Burchum. Seriously maybe there is a Senior graduate transfer QB out there

gilbert has some rough games with us early. QB's take a bit of time to cure….unless they are playing against us.

280 yards Total Offense-probably about 100 after Gilbert went out in first half mostly by Nleimchi since Gilbert had 138 yards passing in first half

Lets give Burcham a chance to prepare for a game as a starter and play a game that way before giving up on him. Tonight might not be a true look at him. I am sure he never expected to play regardless of the "you are one play away" jargon. Too early to made a true judgment.

A win is a win. Move on. This game might end up being a blessing in disguise. It forced JJ to give Burcham some playing time. This is greatly needed experience. The reality is that this year means very little and we are generally playing for next year and to enter next year with no QB with any experience would be a travesty. Admittedly, Burcham had his problems, but that is understandable as he had no expectations of playing and it was quite clear to most that no one else but GG was going to get any play time. In essence, GG was going to get all the play time and we would be totally up the creek next year. Yes, Burcham was not good; but he has not played for more than 2 1/2 years. JJ may have just saved his job after next year despite himself.

This program is screwed if June is here next year.

This team maybe screwed anyway-folks we are losing another good group of Seniors like we have in last 3 years-each year we are losing more than we can replace. What younger players have really stepped up this year? We are stair-stepping down

GG > NB

However I agree, whenever we were winning by somewhat comfortable margin, GG should have come out and NB should be put in.
