Or they're watching this board, just to see what crazy explanations we come up with. This is top notch entertainment for them, watching the regular folks get themselves all worked up.

This is top notch entertainment for me too! Besides, I've been pretty bored since the Nebraska coaching vigil ended.

GJF Plane Watch...Hour 27.....

Scheduled for a 1 minute layover, GJF's plane sat on the runway at BWI 30 minutes later. Although it now appears that the Miami flight is not a ruse, as GJF-1 has again taken to the skies, headed south. No word yet from our Maryland team of reporters as to what occurred on the ground, although their hippo suits were sure to throw off the Navy scouts.

I'm adding it to my christmas list. Along with my own personal purple hippo to investigate things for me.

no hippo sightings, but this is definitely the tail at around 1:20pm. they got off late, not that that is news by the time i get back to post. never saw any interesting cars come or go, but i wasnt climbing fence posts or hiding in bushes...

Nice..... hope the Purple Hippo had a hold of PJ's ankle imploring him not to go.

And I am glad that this whole sorted affair ended with it being 200 pounds of potential head coach, over 200 pounds of gouda.

...

And for those playing our popular home game, I just left work and am safely at the ThadPad. Nice 30+ hour day there. Special thanks to ponyfans.com, Gerald Ford's plane, a green dot on a screen, and the cannon and hippo dudes for making it all worth it.

Once I learn of the official coaching announcement, I am going to load the purple hippo into my cannon and send him flying across the room. You know, for dramatic effect.

Well he's definitely getting all the good pub... just remember, when your pointing that cannon, who fought the good fight for you. I just don't want to imagine a giant purple hippo hurtling towards me at a terminal speed.

I think my post may have come across wrong. I want to shoot the purple hippo across the room in celebration.

Steve-O: I would like to announce that the new head coach of the SMU football team is...Paul Johnson.

BOOOOOOM!! Dancing Purple Hippo Dude goes flying towards the stage, lands on the stage, does a barrell roll, hops up and is the first to shake PJ's hand.

Steve-O: What the hell is that thing? Is that the thing that was lurking around Love Field that made us circle the airport several times?

And the SMU fans rejoice.

GF is going to hang in Miami for a couple of days. Why? Don't know. We need the hippo to head that way to find out. Oh, and get a purple gator disguise so that he blends in.....................

Check the Board of Trustees composition.
Who's from Miami/Dade County?

May be a shot in the dark...I dunno.

Who are the coaches in college and pros in the area?

A: The Best Available Coach in America

Actually, I would rank Johnson above any coach in America, available or not...

Not that this has even a 1% chance of happening, of course.
