I think its a major miscalculation if SMU is withholding major violations so that the NCAA can announce them. First impressions are everything. The impression most everywhere except this message board is that Tubbs got railroaded. Wouldnt it behoove SMU to dispel that if they possibly can?

That seems to be true. But, again, I'm going to wait until the promised bigger fish are revealed -- or not revealed, in which case I'm going to join you in your public hissy fit.

no you won't. Time will fade that conviction. We'll have some new coach at some point and the issue of tubbs will fade into oblivion with most fans. Think about it, if there is no revelation, when exactly do you know to get upset? June? July? October? Forget it. Thats what smu is probably counting on. If there are substantiated major violations I will get on here and scream as loud as I can that I agree with the decision. Still I think it was very bad form for SMU to fire somebody over violations but not announce what they were. If there was something to wait for, they should have waited to fire him.

True--It shows an utter lack of respect for the SMU fan base (what little it has).

I agree. They have completely disrespected all 27 of us!

(sorry, couldn't pass up a chance to laugh at what it is like to be one of SMU's dwindling fan base)

You forgot old. The median age in the Mustang Club snack room at basketball games is in the 70's.

i've said before that I was an smu fan long before tubbs got here and I'll be one long after he has moved on. I guess that is still the case, although I am certainly questioning my faith in SMU at the moment. I am still open minded about supporting this decision, but so far, based on what I have read, heard and observed, I cannot.

The fan base ain't dwindling.
And all you so-called 'fans' that keep putting us down and laughing about how sorry things are, are only hurting our school.

There is some strange stuff put on this board that I just don't understand.
And I've been a fan since the early sixties.

Sure, it's a weird situation with the DP forever tatooed on our a**. Everybody is tired of losing - we've been embarrassed and humiliated too many times to mention.

But, by God, our players are ready to win. They are busting their a**es and we need to stop putting SMU down!!!!!!! I've had it!!@!!!!

GO SMU!!!!!!!! - KICK SOME A** - BRING BEVO IN HERE - BRING ON ANYBODY!! YOU'RE D*MN STRAIGHT - STALLION!!! I'M 'RAH-RAH-RAH' FROM HERE ON OUT. get me a stretcher.........

In fact our fan base has dwindled just about every year since Ford was built. You don't have to like it-just deal with it. SMU averaged no more than 12,000 actual SMU fans last year. How much lower can it go?
