Nutt met with the Ole Miss AD/chancellor this morning apparently to discuss the vacancy. I don't think he goes -- he likes Oxford and Ole Miss and this is more likely a chance for him to iron out some of the differences he's had with Pete Boone (the AD).
Also on the rumor front, I heard that an Auburn jet was spotted in Memphis today, so is Tommy West headed to Tigerland?
Didn't Tuberville bail on Ole Miss to go to Auburn?

Doesn't mean anything. AD's often run their interviews out of the city where the recruiting firm is located that they hired for the coaching search. Last year, Nebraska held most of its interviews in Atlanta (and flew Pelini, Gill, Grobe, Johnson in to meet with Osborne there, all in a couple of days.) Another school--I don't recall which (seems like maybe Duke or Michigan)--was operating out of New York.
SMU's recruiting firm was out of Plano or Richardson or something last year, if I remember correctly. So that--in addition to wanting to show off the campus/facilities--is why most of our interactions occurred in Dallas. A high profile job like Auburn wouldn't require as much of the hard sell like Orsini had to pull off.

Tony Barnhart, who writes about college football for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports that Will Muschamp will not be Auburn’s next head coach. Muschamp told Barnhart, “I have not talked to Auburn about this job and I have no interest in the job,â€
I have a thread that I mistakingly put on the basketball thread. But honestly, why does Gary do this year? If he loves Fort Worth so much, then just publicly announce that you won't seek a job when the regular season has finished.
And stop doing this December dance every year. It's getting a little pathetic.
I'm repeating what I've said before. Unless it's Texas, Florida, USC or Ohio State or something like that, he's not going anywhere.
Auburn is in a tough position because of a rising Crimson colored Tide. Its going to be tough to find a Coach that can compete with Saban as his top recruiting classes are starting roll in.
