Hard to read JJ, because he generally doesn't get too excited about anything. Press conference was pretty ho-hum for the most part. However, I did notice that his eyes lit up - and he couldn't contain his excitement - when he talked about two players: (1) Darius Johnson, who he used the term "The Truth" to refer to, and (2) Margus Hunt. We know what Johnson will bring to the team. On the other hand, Hunt is a project, but if he wants to play and uses the NFL as a motivator to improve rapidly, he could be scary on defense for us (JJ mentioned his best friend from Europe who now plays D-line for the Tennessee Titans as an influence on Margus' decision to play football - aside from the more obvious fact that he no longer had a T & F scholarship and otherwise would have to return to Estonia).

It wouldn't really surprise me to see ES get drafted. Whatever numbers he's able to put up will still be viewed as inflated by JJ's system, however he's been consistently great his entire career and has nore than adaquate height and speed. Rounds 5 - 7 seem very possible if he's able to have some good workouts b/w our New Orleans Bowl appearance and the draft next year.

Very nicely done. The first post-signing day 2009 Bowl prediction. The keys to the bus are officially yours:

Please understand it took quite a bit of self-restraint to change Rose Bowl to New Orleans Bowl.

If we do that I want Zach Line. He had 1700 yards rushing his senior year. Although Byron Browns Weight/Height/and speed could make him an awesome RB!

Should have moved one of last years LB's to RB - since they apparently could not be involved with a play resulting in a tackle.

After going to the signing day even last night, I think the worry about B Smith to S and Sanders to corner is a little misguided.

Last night, he indicated that people would be moved around a little bit in the spring, because we don't have enough players at certain positions until the recruits come in. Take a look at the roster and how thin we are at corner and saftey and you understand. I think in the spring when the 3rd stringers are in, we could see b smith and cunningham at saftey. The players don't hit in those practices, he just wants guys in certain positions who will know where to be.
