Not at all, my Plus I addressed that.

I had thought, and I may be wrong, that it is Bo, barring injury. Braden is #2, and the chap from New Mexico is #3.

Padron would be number three, Mr. NMSU won't be seeing the field at any point at all this year.

Not having expectations for your team is chicken sh*t. It says you don't have the stomach for the fight anymore. Hey, being a fan of SMU football is probably the most heartbreaking football experience ever. I don't pretend to know what it feels like to have gone through the early 80's when we were a national power to now a perennial doormat, but I know every year I go into that season "EXPECTING" something. Whether that is wins, progress, better recruiting, etc. I expect us to be building towards bigger and better things. Yeah, we've sucked for a really long time, but history has nothing to do with what we can do this year and in the years moving forward. We have a coach with a vision and the pedigree to get it done. You better damn well believe those people in charge of making decisions at SMU "EXPECT" June Jones to get us back to winning. But its a long, tough road and some people can't handle it.

Only you could make the argument that we weren't the worst team in America for most of those years. This year there is no doubt in my mind there isn't a worse div.1a football team than Southern Methodist University and it isn't even close.

Clearly you didn't watch any of SMU's quarterback play from about...oh 20001-2005.

It is truly saddening and frightening that you run through old posts. The difference between me and you (well that list is really too large to even fathom) is that I actually give a rats [deleted] and expect things out of my team. Being pissed off doesn't cloud the fact that I care. Nice try sugar mouth.

Jaws you have to change that line of thinking. Because we are paying a coach $2 million (well, the league of champions is) a season and because WE WERE TOLD the academic restrictions have been lightened, there should be little that prevent us from competing for solid players.
Or were we lied to about the academic restrictions and what we were told and what is happening are two different things?

It wouldn't be the first time the SMU athletic department lied publically, but I don't think so this time. I think the restrictions have been lifted as much as they are ever going to be. The reason we can't win now, and I have no expectations of this team, have more to do with the reputation as losers we have developed over the last 20 years. Solid players want to play for winners. It'll take winning with less than solid players to get past this, and that's a tough road to hoe. Too much water under the bridge for me to have expectations, best I can do is have hope. So I hope we win a lot this season. Hope is free...

Why is it so difficult to know the difference between wanting your team to win and expecting your team to win? I happen to know that jtstang wants SMU to win. He just does not expect anything at game time. He does not expect them to lose and he does not expect them to win. I am still tilting to the sunshine side in that I do expect us to win against a lower division team but would expect (not want) us to lose if we were playing UT for instance. It really is not a hard concept to grasp although it may be hard to practice.

Eventually you become conditioned to it.
