Iowa getting their field goal kicker injured might come back to bite them.
Re: PJ and Georgia Tech Vs. Iowa
what was that running back for tech thinking, did he forget which endzone to run to?

Under 4 minutes left in the game and GT only has one pass completion!
Re: PJ and Georgia Tech Vs. Iowa
georgia tech offense has looked terrible and I can't believe they gave the fed ex ground performance to a guy who 3 rushes for 21 yards and a 1 yard touch down...

Re: PJ and Georgia Tech Vs. Iowa
getting Georgia Tech was the perfect matcup for Iowa-almost as good as Penn St. getting LSU in a Mud Bowl. Both TCU and Boise would beat these teams more than lost to those teams

i don't think thats necessarily true, i think you would see a game very similar to the fiesta bowl which is dominated by defense. i dont even know how you could draw that conclusion from watching the game when iowa dismantled the tech offense holding them to nearly half of their season total in rushing yards

Re: PJ and Georgia Tech Vs. Iowa
It boils down to this-Georgia Tech has now lost 4 of its last 5 games against teams with at least 2 weeks to prepare for the "Genius"' offense. Iowa plays in a physical run oreinted conference whose defenses have players recruited to stop the run. Perfect matchup for Iowa. The Big 10 gets in trouble when they have to play against teams with wide open offenses with better athletes at skill positions. But when Penn St. gets LSU in two inches of mud, LSU's advantage is lost

I live on the water in HH and the outside temp at night is hovering in the mid 40's freezing my buns.
Probably the water effect but too cold for me!

thats pretty interesting, we did have the santa ana winds come through which made it exceptionally warm, now its back around 57. I live walking distance from the water as well, and it hasnt made it too cold up here.

Re: PJ and Georgia Tech Vs. Iowa
Iowa's win finished the Big Ten's bowl record at 4-3, including 2-0 in its BCS games. A very solid showing for the conference in what I hope will mean better things to come.
Conference's best performance: Ohio State. Took an Oregon offense, which hung a ton on USC, and made it look ordinary.
Conference's worst performance: Minnesota. Golden Gophers didn't even deserve to be playing in a bowl game.
Most exciting performance: Northwestern. Great twists and turns against Auburn but the cats fell short in overtime.
Best player in the Bowl Games: Tarelle Pryor. Maybe we saw a statement that the 2008 No. 1 recruited player is finally coming into his own.
Best coaching job: Tie between Wisconsin's Bo Bielema and Iowas's Kirk Ferentz. These two do a great job with teaching fundamentals and rarely beat themselves.
National title contenders in 2010. Ohio State will probably be preseason top 8 somewhere. That's probably it because Michigan is a mess, Iowa could make a move but Penn State has to replace QB Darryl Clark.
Notable:
In the four wins, the Big Ten won by an average of 6.75 points.
In the three losses, the Big Ten lost by an average of 4.67 points.
Thanks to the Big Ten for restoring its pride and national respect in Division I college football. I love this conference.
Now, I'll just wait for the, "this is an SMU board, take this to the Big Ten chat rooms.'' comments.
Oh well.

Yes, but we all love SMU and want it to succeed. It's great to see the passion return for this program.
