Why? Even at reduced capacity, Amon Carter seats about as many as Ford.

If you count all the seating in the grassy area we can get at least 35,000.

So based off of everything here it looks like section S is the way to go... Are those the ones that will be released on august 1st? If not, where are the other pfans purchasing from stub hub going to make their selections?

Even after AC's facelift is completed, they both have about the same capacity.

about 8-10,000 difference but TCU will have a much high number of quality sideline seats which has always been a problem with Ford due to zoning restrictions. That's how you make your money with seat licenses these days.

After they redo the east side next year they will have a capacity of approximately 50,000+...or so I have been told.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Not sure...I follow SMU. My understanding is the east side redo is still part of the facelift......it just cleans it up.....no upper deck....which would be the expansion. I could be wrong. Regardless, both stadiums are close now and close when expanded.
I hope they have the expansion and a full house when we return in 2013.

Last I heard, they were raising the money to put an upper deck on the east side. I believe you have to have a minimum capacity of 50,000 to be in a BCS conference...so their plans had to change to accommodate that.

Re Capacity: Last I heard from people that would know...capacity for 2012 will be in the 42K - 44K range. That is actual seats - compared to 32K at Ford. Full capacity with SRO will be around 50K....so not a material change from "old ACS".

Expansion to 50K+ seats is the next step but is not part of the plan for the next 12 -18 months (as far as I know).
