Look. Most of you know my views on this, but Hilltop is right. Orsini and his SID are getting off easy here.

And by the way, the Rangers game was tonight - not a conflict. Look at Northwestern's efforts in Chicago. They've put a marketing and ticket sales team in place to sell - sell - sell. That is not happening here. Orsini is either too lazy or too stupid to realize the importance of having people in the stands watching your games. How he justifies his own salary is beyond me, but this just doesn't cut it.

Ask Orsisi -- Do you have an explanation as to why there were less than 13,000 fans in the seats for this game? You are 5 years into your tenure as AD - and you PROMISED to raise $$$$ through sponsorship and ticket sales. All you have done is continue to put the pinch on donors to fund [deleted] and unsucessful programs. You are an Accountant and your SID is running marketing. This is why things will not change until you realize the importance of building a fan base. :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Ponyfans has the most loyal and hard core fans. We don't need convincing and the guys on here are very patient --- too patient when it comes to expectations on attendance.

But when you do NOTHING -- NOTHING -- NOTHING for 5 straight years and the team starts experiencing success, your lack of planning becomes an issue.

Do your [deleted] job!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

You're a moron. You know why? Because you're trying to grind an axe with the SID on the issue of marketing and ticket sales.

Hey the guy who uses smilies like a [deleted] child is right. Marketing is essential, especially in a city as full of itself as Dallas.

For those of you that think the Rangers game conflicted...I was at the SMU game (the entire game) and made first pitch at the Ranger game with time to spare. It did not conflict, it is simply an excuse. PONY UP and GO RANGERS

Half a dozen guys at our tailgate left to watch first half on tv and then drive to the game. 4 of the guys using my club tickets left at half. So from my small sample, yes, it was a conflict.

Tshirt fans see ALCS vs a school that has been a 6-6 team for a couple years since coming out of obscurity. This wasnt even a choice them.

Don't forget,.... again...no one cares about UCF , including their fans. They had what 100 fans here? and they didn't even bring their band either. If they had traveled with 5-6,000 fans we would have had 28,000 fans anyway. This is why regional rivalries make better sense. Say what you will about UNT, at least we would have had a crowd of 30,000 for someone local with connections to Dallas and SMU.

We're in for more of the same (opponent attendance) if we join the Big East. A good investment would be a TV camera platform on the east side - so that the attendee side is in the picture. The glare from the empty seats is, well, ............ glaring. The only thing that saves us from double-secret attendance probation is TCU every-other-year and the occasional TT visit. Better dust off the Russ Potts model and strive to put 25,000 Mustang butts in seats.

I was of course at the game. I left with about 7 minutes left in the 4th qtr to make the Ranger’s game. And I did with about 5 minutes to spare. Problem was not people leaving, it was people showing up. We have got to do a better job getting the word out about this team. Thad commercial was great, but if we only show it on the “Stampede” and at games we are only targeting fans that are coming to the game already.
