As for me I follow Jones and the team and enjoy some of the quality commentary on Ponyfans. I still want to see the R&S run like I have seen it run in the past. However I don't know if I can put up with you Ponyfans long enough to see it happen again. I don't know if the Jones boys can deal with much more either. So maybe if you keep the assault on the coaches and team they will all leave and you can find your happiness and the Jones boys can come home to the islands (with your chump change).

If you think we're bad just wait until you and the Jones boys have to deal with an AQ fanbase.

RSFan, the way JJ runs the R & S at SMU is an unknown as we are still waiting to see the "Shoot" after four (4) years! Yea,, Yea,, so am I, I plan on watching next year.

I live in socal in a waterfront home and I would relocate to Dallas 1000 times over before ever living in Hawai'i again. Dallas could be an upgrade coming from LA. Hawaii is not perfect, especially if you don't know how to relate and get along with the locals. But Dallas over Hawaii for a place to LIVE no way.

FYI I had wheels, unlimited. cash, friends, ladies, golf clubs, rackets, surfboards, fishing and scuba gear, and numerous Kanaka and Haole friends when I attended the University of Hawai'i. Well you should have been happy, what spoiled it?

Hawai'i is a great resort it just lacks the unlimited amenities of socal and even Dallas. This one puzzles me, please clarify.

Nice try but the coaches need to stop dissing SMU and embrace the culture they chose or leave. Come on man, you know they will never let go of what they are. Jones wears a lei every couple of weeks, get over it. Reinbold wants to go surfing (without a wet suit)

McMackin looks like a tool with his leis even in Hawai'i but JJ leis in North Texas are beyond ridiculous. McMackin looks and dresses like a Texan.....

The whole power trip to change tradition is also too egocentric to discuss. Most of us have a little ego, but I see Jones more alpha than egotistical.

BTW I love the Black Unis and the Haka dance stolen from the All Blacks Rugby club!
Maybe they should get the death penalty....

I jut want to say that Dallas doesn't have a lot of the gimmicky tourist attractions, but it is awesome as a permanent residence.

I live in Houston, but grew up in New Jersey and Calgary. I also just spent the last six months in upstate Washington.
I would choose Houston or Dallas over all of them for a home.

I would go to HI for vacation. Honeymoon was in Maui and we loved it.

Gee, sure sounds like the Hawaii stuff is wearing thin with A LOT of SMU fans -- not just 3 "whiners", 86.

Once again, they are as much Hawaiians as they are Texans. They are fake Hawaiians, sounds like you are as well.

We would all love to know the name of his business so that we can be sure not to patronize it. After all, if he can't support his university then why should he expect any reciprocity?
BTW- did you enjoy watching your little island school get their butts handed to them last night?

GO PONIES!!!

But you want the man fired. But I guess haters are going ton hate. But one thing I will say about Mitch is that he will give JJ a good word or two when he sees some good things happening.

How did this become a "my state is better than your state" thread?

I realize everyone is proud of where they are from and wants to defend their "home" turf, but let's be real guys. Some people want creature comforts, status symbols, etc. Some want beaches, oceans, surfing, fishing, etc. To each their own I guess.

I work in Washington, DC because I have to. I live at the beach in NC because I want to. Two completely different worlds, much like Texas and Hawaii.

Very true. However you didn't refer to the people in D.C. as snobs and hicks with a little school on the hilltop. Helluva difference.

Yes, very true redpony. Only places I will defend vigorously are Texas and North Carolina. I've lived many places, but those are the only 2 that I have ever really called home. I very much dislike DC and Northern VA--too many people, too much traffic, etc.

I sincerely wish JJ and staff would embrace Texas, our culture, our city, our school, our community, and our history. But he may feel like this is only a job to him, not a lifestyle. Most NFL coaches don't really "embrace" their team's state. All about the W's. So as long as he keeps winning, I can live with the leis and the affinity for the islands.

The thing I worry about, however, is the sustainability of the program after JJ leaves. We need to be building our Texas recruiting. Simply hiring 1 guy to recruit our immediate area would be a start!!
