Illinois is a terrible state as well, as pretty much the entire north part of the country.

There was a mainstream media report today that Sumlin to Illinois was a done deal. Seemed nuts, turns out it was.

JJ to Baylor would be absurd/ hilarious. And the Sungod would have to immediately change his twitter handle. There's only one savior in Waco and he plays QB.
HB: is "he who will not be named" your current coach or Mr Win Forever? Because that guy might be available soon.

If he stays one more year and doesn't get injured badly, you know the media will be on his nuts the way they are Andy Luck's. He would practically be guaranteed a top 5 pick.

Jones opportunities to leave SMU are tied to several other coaching moves, IMO.
Sumlin and Fedora have both interviewed at A&M, and Chris Peterson is now a tardy third entry prospect, along with several others lower on the rungs of most Aggie lists. Big news is the search is apparently causing a furball with AD Byrne and other folks in leadership positions, making the selection process a war-zone, much like Mike Sherman's mishandled dismissal.
IF Fedora heads to aggieland, Sumlin jumps to ASU. Word in these parts is that the Sun Devils want him first, and he has stalled on the Aggie front, due to above mentioned furball.
Fedora has roots here in College Station, and got a boost by USM beating UH (most Aggies are ADD or ADHD, I am convinced, and are attracted to the newest, shiny object they see)...
IF Sumlin is not chosen for the Aggie job, he will most likely reconsider ASU, and Jones is more likely to remain at SMU.
Hinge for Jones is Sumlin, through A&M, it seems...he is getting a great deal of positive play here locally.
There are alot of good things happening for us...new conference, new bball opponents that have a national profile, quality recruits looking at us that never would have given us a sniff 5 years ago, and potentially a GREAT upgrade in football opponents starting next year...no '[deleted] and moan' from me, it is a GREAT time to see SMU moving up the food chain again.
