Glad things seem mended with JJ.
Could KP became the next Josh McCown? He's got the potential, especially if he gets into the right program.
Yes, I think he'd be a monster down in FCS or DII. The right program could be Eastern Washington, they're losing Bo Levi, have no clear-cut replacement and have cranked out several productive QBs the last decade.

The QB revolving door at SMU continues on and on. Unfortunately it never made any sense for Gilbert to come here unless he was promised the job. And it makes no sense for KP to stay in that situation because KP can play and he is too good to sit and watch. He will go somewhere and do great. I sure hope Jones is making the right choice in horses to ride this time.
As for KP playing at Texas, I also think he could beat out Ash and McCoy, but it will never happen because the alums there could not accept Mack turning to a transfer from SMU.

And yes, I know we need better to move on (AGREE bigtime) but what does all this say about our HC?
It would be interesting if Printz's dad could expand and clarify the "deeper problems" he was referring to. I believe June Jones and his system is what interested him in SMU and is not the problem. I can further speculate and base my assumption on what I think Klem has told every one of his recruits.. You guessed it.. the lingering stench of the death house mentality and the pervasive conditional love and respect that is only shown after big wins and the disdain after a loss. Also I believe it indicates that Ponyfans attitudes can and probably effect recruits more than some want to believe regardless of their intellegence.
As for Padron leaving I wish him the best of luck. I also think Padron's self evaluation and decision to leave is a sign of the program rising to a level higher than he thinks he can compete. So if we can stay positive and create and maintain an atmosphere than Garret Gilbert wants to risk playing in everything could work out terrific.
Have you ever even been to another message board?
No but I have been Mellow...

I really liked Padron and think he had a shot of playing for us next year, although not a great shot with Gilbert coming He obviously saw the writing on the wall. What surprises me about these transfers is that they always have to go somewhere else that has competition - so i dont get what they think they are accomplishing. Chances of a QB at SMU making it a full season without injury is very slim - he would worst case be in back up roll. He obviously is not pro material so why not get an SMU degree instead of playing in obscurity at nw south Louisiana school of technology (or similar) or two yrs and then what? so short sighted. Hate to see them steered into these decisions by people that don't understand their limitations.
Disagree with the decision but obviously dont know everything about it - so good luck kyle. You and your family seem like top notch people.
p.s. - Stallion you must be drinking if you think he could play at UT. You may know recruiting but that doesnt carry over to QB's if you think his skill set translates to the big 12 (10).

yeah true but those same fans are pretty desperate for even mediocre QB. I think Padron would have a lot better shot if he had a clean bill of health right now. As long as he is healthy I can tell you he will not have to go Division 1AA.

to play right away (assuming that is what he wants to do) KP needs to head to some FCS program.
we just got "thin" at the QB spot. Hope Gilbert is a done deal and becomes a player for us; really need someone to emerge as a capable backup

I think Padron right now is clearly better than anything Texas has. what are you drinking? David Ash's QB rating is so low he misses the NCAA Top 100 cutoff for the Passing Efficiency by 5 points.

he might be, but he's going to have to sit for a year and wait to make sure they don't bring in a new savior to play as a FR. Assuming he gets the medical RS, he can go FCS and play 2 years, perhaps win a national championship and take the McCown route to a shot at the NFL

Really sad to see him go. He did some great things for us.
Best of luck, Kyle!

Ash is better then Padron right now. about twice as mobile - Padron would be a pinata at Texas.

Padron is not an immobile QB-don't know where that got started. He routinely ran for a hundred yards a game in the few HS games he played. JJ doesn't want his QBs to run

yep - they can get just about any QB in the country - bad luck and poor
evaluations. Good luck to Kyle -
too bad we wont have a backup that knows the system and has playing time. Kaiser I guess is a bust. burcham - who knows..

it came from watching him - he is immobile relative to what you need in the game today. sprinting for 8 to the sideline on a busted play is sometimes helpful but not what I am talking about.

let's not forget Preston as a backup; he will have been here for a full season and spring ball so he should at least have a grasp of the system
