well stallion - you are not all that correct once again.
22-25 is not bad for where we are right now. we have about 50k living alumni in DFW - so i will take that percentage of living alumni in town coming to our games over just about anyone.
TCU has no competition for their sports dollar and a pretty solid track record over the last ten yrs. attendance follows winning which follows recruiting - so why dont you just stick with recruiting.

Fact Check: SMU living alumni in DFW is right at or under 40k
DFW numbers for other regional teams
A&M just over 50k
BU- 42k
TCU- 25k
Tech- Over 70k
UT- Over 90k
Tech having more DFW residents than the ag's the one that surprised me.
22k is low for the kind of team SMU has been since mid-2009. That said the long slump since the DP did the damage so you can't expect the casual fan to ignore it quickly. SMU is improving the attendance but it takes time when you've had down years as my school can also attest to.
The attendance bump follows winning and if you can consistently go bowling and win a big time game here and there it will get there. TCU took a decade to ramp up from the 21k in 98 to the upper 30k & lower 40k they have had the last few years. BU has jumped from 10k from when we were bad to the last 2 years when we broke through. Stay the course as it simply takes time.

Humiliating showing in Waco will hurt the SMU showing. I know several who decided to sell their tickets after Baylor and more who decided to sell after seeing our offense vs SFA

As usual I'll continue to drive the discussion on this board on the problems in the SMU program and wait for the rest of you to catch up 3-4 years later

UNT also has, quite possibly, the worst FBS home schedule this year, and only 5 games.
Texas Southern
Troy
ULaLa
Arkie St
S Bama
Good grief.

Over 4x your undergrads does that. If they only get half to show up they only need 8k more of their gigantic but apathetic DFW alumni base to show. Getting 8k of 208,000 isn't likely to be THAT tough.

No doubt they need it otherwise their president will look like a complete r-tard for investing soo much money into a football program at an oversize community college. I guarantee the liberal majority would rather they donated the money on football to Obama
And yes BU I know the difference I'm just saying every kid who goes to the school probably didn't realize they are in the FBS or even have a football team. I'm surprise that they even went last time I heard about their attendance like 2007, 2008 they had like average of 8000

The one in Austin was taken care of like it should have been. Too bad pledgeship isn't until next semester...

They had a couple games that low but the average never dipped below 15k IIRC.

A&M is far worse, at least UT has actual success to point to. Also UT's alumni tend to be more level headed when you beat them and can give you props. A&M on the other hand went a decade trying to convince themselves Tech was beneath them.

and that about sums up what pathetic fans we have. Even those who bought season tickets bailed after week one? It is going to take several miracle workers to ressurect our athletic programs. And still people wonder why JJ was ready to bolt?

I'll admit A&M football can get a little [deleted] but the general school, traditions etc are far superior. Unfortunately for me my future in-laws extended family are UTers and they are nuts and said only reason they sucked was because of GG and other crap. I realize they can't be statistically the pop. But still I assume they're all ridiculous. Also theyre like how's SMU doing in their FCS conference I'm just like I'm out. Anyways I'm done with UT/Austin rant but to finish it off how freaking greedy is it to give a very limited student section (possibly the smallest in the big 12) and act like you care about students...

I'd be much more sympathetic to June and his situation if his highly-tauted passing offense didn't bore me to tears, underwhelm and mostly fail.
