SMU fans are known for rollin' with the punches when it comes to uniforms. Not what I would have chosen but I think it is just fine. No point in cryin' over it. Be supportive. Pony Up!

I can't tell from the pics but it appears we lost the strips on the pants. That I will miss. I have not been a fan of the stripless white pants.

Not sure, but I think they left our helmets alone.

Poor choices for sure, and how anyone would think that these uniforms would appeal to 18 year olds needs electric shock treatments (complete fail). Now, let's move on and play ball. Next year we can repeat the exercise and complain again.

Agree 100%. Beyond the fact they look like 2A high school pants, they are less than flattering on quite a few of the bigger players. It boggles my mind they even consider plain white pants...

I liked the no stripe pants because the looked smoother to me. But as far as the uniforms are concerned I know a few on the board did not like Nike and so apparently Nike must have gotten some off their negative feedback and gave SMU these jerseys. They definitely will not help SMU with recruits as stated above.

OK, my last fashion post for the year (I've exceeded my quota).

Someone made a great point about looking more and more like UH/TT. The point about going back to the blue Pony Express design, IMHO, is more about distinguishing us from other programs ... look how many programs have red as their dominant color - just off the top of my head is USC, Wisconsin, Indiana, UH, TT, Alabama ... how many are blue? I can't think of any except Boise St. Moving to blue is a way to stake a claim with our branding ... now, having said that, I've read many reports that show that the color red is a good color for television (notice how many news anchors/politicians, etc, wear red ties - it's for a reason).

I showed them to my 10 year old daughter who IS a fashion expert and asked her to look at them without me biasing her in anyway and she said: "I like the colors but the designs are terrible. I hate it."

There you go. The experts have thus spoken and will speak no more on the topic. ;-)

I agree 100% with your daughter, I as a male 16 year old high school senior (You know, the type of person these jerseys are supposed to appeal too), the colors are fine, believe it or not I would LOVE the jerseys if not for the offset blue, but because they keep the blue on the outline of the number and the outline of the number ONLY, I can NOT stand them. While I do prefer the blue and think the blue look would be way better, the red and white look would look good if the blue outline of the number would be taken off.

Still request that someone make a blue version of these jerseys on photoshop and possibly another one of the red and white ones with the blue outline taken off.

Maybe I'd like the uniforms better if Chris Parks and Margus were wearing them...

(This is to take nothing away from Neal and Chauncy, I think they will both do great things here. BUT they are freshman)

Ding. Ding. Ding.
