June Jones. He's our coach until he leaves. Let's not speculate. And lets be real. Petrino who left the Falcons to take the Arkansas job, left Louisville, left Tulsa. Come on, the ink wouldn't stay dry before his eyes were wandering either for a new broad or new job.

See Larry Brown. There would be a similar positive impact regardless of how long he stayed. Arkansas had him on a $18,000,000 buy out. He would have been there for a while had he not screwed up.

Perhaps A. Klemm will be ready after a year at UCLA...

Yep. Great recruiter.

It doesn't matter how good your coaching abilities are, if you can recruit. See Ron Meyer. Greatest recruiter to ever hit the SWC, but just an average coach.

Recruit the players and surround yourself with the best assistants, and you win championships. Larry Brown will prove this.

He can beat Navy, and nearly got Stanford on Friday with D2 level players.

6-20 at SJSU, right?

1-12 first year. 5-7 last year. Almost beat Stanford in game one this year. Keep watching.
Looks like he might be a coach who can build a program with minimal talent. Not sure if he can recruit, yet.
I mean, I know you all think Nick Saban is walking through that door to pull a bunch of 5 stars away from the Longhorns and Sooners, but I was just throwing his name out there as a possibility.

Ron Meyer had the best Football staff by far this school has ever seen. There were about 6 Coaches who went on to very long NFL careers who coached as SMU during Meyer's regime

There is a good chance muschamp will be available by years end. I wouldn't mind offering his a place to land back in Texas. Todd Monken would be a good choice.

This, kind of silly to speculate right now.

Tony Dungy??? I liked the interview he did w/Peyton Manning and Manning commented about how Dungy instilled the practice as you play philosophy in him. What a concept!!!

I hope our new AD is putting together a list. I really expect JJ to leave at the end of this year. He has done nothing regarding recruiting. By his 5th year you would expect him to start having a number of 3* and even one or two 4* coming to the hilltop. He has consistently talked about being a 1 1/2 away from having the quality and depth he needs. Yet depth is/and has been a consistent problem.
Plus we lose a lot of seniors this year and have very few players ready to replace them. I would be surprised if he wanted to go to the BE with the team we will have next year. Just my opinion.

I think people are just concerned about the offense once we start playing FBS teams. It is a legit concern IMO.

No kidding. That this is being discussed is shameful.

Yes, the offense has a long way to go to reach optimum efficiency, but after a 52-0 win? This is why fans of some other schools hate our fans.

Oh no......I started complaining after the beating we took from baylor last weekend and if we hadn't beaten little ol' sfa, I would be livid.

I think some of you mis-read my comments. In no way did I imply that we should fire him. I expect that he will decide to leave on his own at the end of the year.

However, this opinion may change depending on how we do the rest of the year. I doubt if any rational mustang fan would say we are ready to compete at the top level of the BE next year with the team we will have next year.
