I hear a lot of look, we have a former 5 Star and two former 4 Stars so that shows we are improving our talent....but also, we have guys who were two stars who go on to be all conference and NFL players so who cares about the star system.
The reality is, Gilbert and Love were overrated out of high school and Reed and Beasley were underrated in high school.
We are going to go nowhere signing players who were overrated in high school much as we will go nowhere only looking for players who are underrated.
+1
That is why we look more at offers. Also coaching and the system they are playing in has alot to do with whether a player that is highly rated succeeds. Reed and Beasley would not have seen the field at their positions at LSU or OU. I guess we should turn down Snead since he is highly rated. Gilbert and Lowe are generally an exception to the rule. Constantly going for underrated players hoping to develop them will leave SMU lacking in depth. Even I believe we need to step up our recruiting to be successful in the Big East.

Why should we turn down Snead since he is highly rated? And by "Love" you mean "Lowe"?
Just trying to understand what you are saying since you seem to be one of about a handful of serious minded people on this board.

That would be skurtn not you. By the way, thanks for going to the game to check out Bruno. Your input was greatly appreciated and was definitely not a sunshiner report.

Thanks, Rebel. I was just having a little fun.
There's a really good looking athletic safety out of Long Beach Poly, which is an elite program (David Price,) that I might go see next week. We offered. Scout has him as #44 safety in the country and has a BCS offer list a mile long . . . . we probably don't have a realistic chance to get him but I'd like to check him for comparison's sake (I wonder who his SMU recruiter is).

Who was the "big time receiver" on campus this week? Also, does anyone know which recruits attended the game against Memphis?

Hines is a defensive player. His teammate Moorehead is a pretty good wr.
