Planning by TV schedulers. CBS controls SEC. Fox controls the B1G and PAC 12. So, in essence the Big XII(11) is not expanding, yet, they are ABC/ESPN. ACC is ABC/ESPN. BE is ESPN football/CBS hoops. The Big Ten (14) may still expand to 16 and further raid the ACC. The PAC-12 is not expanding, yet. The SEC is not expanding, yet. So, there will be no football teams remaining from the original BE except Temple which left and came back. The ACC may look more like the BE than the ACC, if MD, UVA, and UNC leave to the B1G and GT, Clemson and FSU leave to the Big XII or SEC. That would leave poor NC State, Duke and WF in the ACC. Fox is injuring ESPN (and NBC with its ND contract) with the ACC raid. Will CBS move to hurt ESPN with an ACC raid of its own. Will ESPN move to save its ACC brand by raiding its other brand BE? Will Fox move to hurt ESPN with a PAC 12 move?

Rice would be redundant because of Coog High. I mean if they want to start double-dipping then why not invite Denton High?

True - forgot about the obvious overlap...

I didn't, I still prefer Rice over Tulane! Better school, better athletics, more history, etc. etc. etc.

Methinks UConn and Louisville are out...eminently. Tulane and ECU are emergency filler to help make the Big East temporarily not look like the dead conference that it is.

Villanova isn't happy and I think this opinion is shared by the other basketball schools as well:

Found this article from the 11/22. Basketball schools could have had the majority to disband Big East all together.
Thoughts?

I don't like the crack about SMU in the second to last paragraph. If we ever get a chance to play Villanova, I hope we pound them.

I hope we thump Tulane this year as well. We don't belong in that category. Not for long at least.
