Montana State announcing SMU added to 2013 schedule

Its official, Baylor has been dropped this year for Montana State.

Just stop with the whole "we could be more competitive with Baylor" notion. Did anyone SEE last year's game? Baylor is light years ahead of us athletically. Art Briles has been stockpiling speed in recruiting and he's made Baylor a home for players who've gotten in trouble at other big programs. We'll be lucky to stay on the field with them.

This is a smart business decision. It made no sense to play four athletically superior programs in non-conference and risk getting completely demoralized and banged up before conference play. We're still playing Texas Tech, Texas A&M and TCU, so we're not dodging anybody. It's stupid to even say that.

Even if the program were where it should be under June, it would be insane to play a non-conference schedule that doesn't give you at least one breather. This is a good move.

Chill out dude, if you exercised the most elementary form of reading comprehension you would've known that I meant we'd be more competitive against Baylor as opposed to A&M. A&M is going to be a top 5 team next year. It's not rocket science.

I have excellent reading comprehension, enough to know that we won't be competitive at all with Baylor. How do you figure getting blown out by 35 points is in any way competitive?

My point is that we're going to get blown out by Baylor the same as we're going to get blown out by A&M, just like last year. There's no measurable difference when you're as far behind in talent and depth as we are. Baylor may not be the cream of the Big 12, but the Bears are loaded with athletes.

Don't take this personally, ECM, you're just the most recent person of many to put forth the idea that we could somehow play Baylor closer than A&M. We actually gave A&M a game for a quarter last year and got completely steamrolled from the start by Baylor.

I don't even know where to begin. Put it this way: If someone put a gun to your head and said you had to pick which game would be closer in 2013: A&M or Baylor, would you really take A&M (in CS)?

I think one the of the biggest disappointment in this is the fact SMU gave up what would probably be a sell out crowd and now SMU is looking at a crowd , if they are lucky, 15K.

I've spent a good amount of time at MSU and was wearing a Bobcat hat this afternoon. As a matter of fact, though the game is here I may actually be in Bozeman the weekend of that game due to a previously planned fishing trip.
