To water ponys thoughts:
1) I think they shouldn't add any team that isn't going to be somewhat beneficial. We already have Tulane and Memphis that we can say for sure doesnt pull anybody to watch. Plus there's no need to rush to add teams as the conference still has plenty of time to see what shakes out especially if the ACC gets raided.
2) depending on how much we would get for selling the brand name and how much the estimated costs of going to court will determine what to do with it. I say if you can get a substantial selling price or if costs for holding it are extreme then selling it would be more beneficial considering there is an actual buyer for the brand.
3) big east obviously needs to get good contracts with best possible bowls that have the highest payouts (assuming collectibility is assured). Sad thing is no matter what we get it will never bring the money the BCS conferences will get year to year.
