And I know we all think SMU is the same as Duke, but it's not. It has a good, not elite academic reputuation. Do you know where Yeshiva, Fordham, and Northeastern Universities are? Because they are all ranked ahead of SMU for what it's worth (if you give a crap about us news rankings, which I don't).

Not trying to hate on SMU. I'm thrilled about basketball, but I think it's delusional to think that LB has already put us in the limelight.
If you think so little about SMU, why did you go to school here? Just curious.

I don't think so little about SMU at all. Just because I'm realistic about it doesn't mean I don't respect or like it. I'm not sure why there is such a constant struggle with reality on this board.

I don't think anyone has ever said SMU is on par academically with Duke or Vanderbilt. The fact that you state it undermines what SMU is.

What does that even mean? Let's not set our value based on the opinion of people who have probably never watched an SMU game post-1989. People who don't watch our recruiting boards or sit down at our games have absolutely no idea what's been going on here during the past decade.

Also, it's not "entitlement" to want to consistently improve year-after-year. It's not "entitlement" to want to be better than average or not pencil-in loses. It's called "taking pride in what you do" or "having a competitive spirit". It's not "entitlement" because I understand the work/sacrifice it'll take to get improvement. We aren't doing the work or making the sacrifices that are necessary, especially in recruiting. The fact that you think wanting to be better than 0.500 is "entitlement" is disgusting to me. You must feel we're the highest we can be, that we're fated to only be a mid-major, that we can't get better, we'll alway lose to state-schools, that this is a good as it gets...gag.
