I heard the Red/Blue and participated.
Good idea with the HS bands - maybe we should invite the bands to have a pre-game competition or something for these type of games. Could bring in a few thousand. They seemed to really enjoy Beans too.

They fit right in. They all left after half time.

Yeah, signs the cheerleaders could hold up that say RED / BLUE on each side would be good

Coogs do the signs with Houston and Cougars. Works well. The cheerleaders might find it more successful to lead the cheers.
The low reported number is odd. It should reflect tickets sold.

Were you at the game last night? Want to venture a guess on butts-in-seats?

The cheerleaders made signs last year with Red/Blue and Pony/Up...haven't seen them this year yet and there aren't enough of them. Ultimately I'd like to do S-M-U cross-stadium but you gotta crawl before you walk.

The students all really like the RED BLUE chant. We are going to keep trying, maybe next home game will be better with more attendance with family weekend and all. Once it gets going really loud one time everyone in the stadium will know it and expect it at the next game. I agree we eventually can go to PONY, UP. And S-M-U once it gets going. Every other school does chants like this I don't know why it is so hard for us. It'll happen eventually.
As ticked off and disappointed as I am after that game, I will say it seems to me that every year since I have been here there are more and more students at the end of the game for me to sit with (that I'd consider legitamate SMU fans), who are knowledgeable about the team and into the game. It's not much but I see a lot of those guys as people that will become dedicated alumni. Side note: They are all way more excited about basketball season

Mr. Pony, Not only will I enjoy all SMU wins, if we end up winning 6 or 7 and go to a bowl game I will be there too. I'm sorry if some on this board can't enjoy a win no matter if it is only by a point in the last seconds of a game. A win is a win. I wish I could have 10 of them anyway I could get them. It would be a Merry Christmas.

Assuming this number doesn't get revised at some point down the road, it will be our lowest attendance in at least 10 seasons (that was as far back as the NCAA stats site had). Lower than anything in the 0-12 season, lower than the end of a second consecutive 1-11 season. So, Mr. Jones and Mr. Hart, if your mission is to completely destroy fan interest, then

Shamefully, I didn't attend. We had a game watching party in Southlake which took about 5 1/2 hours of my day. I'm a big attendance guesser like many of you so I figure you're right on. I'd have bet on 16-18K in announced attendance but it depends upon the season ticket base (tickets sold). Was this game in the Tech mini plans? Hopefully Rutgers is much better. I'm looking forward to that one.

Did we have Tech mini-plans?

the only way the number could be wrong is if somebody accidentally wrote them down wrong.
there is no way in hell a school would purposely under report the attendance by that much.

No way this crowd was smaller than the UCF game a few years back. If the 10,000 figure is correct then there were only about 3,000 at the UCF game. It is not even close. That said, the crowd was small.
