Real season starts next week against Rutgers. The game tomorrow means nothing with regards to getting to a BCS game.

So we can tweak and tune up things to get ready for conference play. Just like preseason the NFL.

As was said by a senior offensive tackle elsewhere on the internet - "non-conference, conference season, and then the bowl game".

Re: Official: SMU vs. TCWHO Prediction Thread
I think this will be a pretty good game. TCU will play better than they have the last couple of weeks coming out of the bye - I think they will return to being a very physical team.
SMU has the ability to win this game. We get our best defender back in Rambo, and the pass defense was actually good in the first half of the tech game until he was injured. The defense also played well in the second half of the A&M game once JF left. The pass defense as a whole fixed a lot of its issues against A&M - the gap between the safeties and LBs wasn't as evidence. We got killed by rushing 3 and dropping everyone else in coverage; after ages in the pocket they made a play and beet us.
SMU has the talent to beat everyone remaining on the schedule, TCU included. The difference between winning and losing at this point is making mistakes that cause you to lose versus making plays that pull out a win.
At some point this season, SMU will make that transition, where they stop messing up so much (penalties, drops) that they lose games, and will go on a winning streak. But until that happens, I can't put my money on SMU to win. I think we cover: TCU 27 - SMU 17. But if SMU commits less than 6 penalties and is even in turnovers, we will be more consistent on offense than the frogs and win it 24 - 20.
