You are correct - I was being sarcastic about the 4 FCS thing - and what I mean is that we could play very bad teams from SBC, MAC, CUSA etc.

Is that what I want? Of course not. I want to compete with B12 schools and win AAC every year and get to the access bowl or playoff.

Can we do that with JJ getting extended? I don't think we can. Therefore, I was suggesting (again, as Devil's advocate) that we do everything JJ asks for w/r/t scheduling and see how it goes.

Problem is that these game contracts are signed and getting out of any OOC games would be a nightmare and financial mess - if we could get out of them at all.

Keep TCU, keep UNT, but mix up the other two spots. Baylor was a great choice when we went into that deal but not now. Bring in UTEP, and maybe a big 10 team.

We are competitive in our conference, we just need a smell in hell of a 12-0 once in a while.

We also need to stop this preseason/OOC attitude, but that is another discussion, and I will wait to see what RH says in reply to my email on the topic (and others).

Listen, we are where we are. I'm not advocating the status quo, but honestly - if Jones is staying, and if we played the worst teams we could find OOC, then played our usual AAC schedule and actually finished undefeated, we would be ranked. Period. End of story. Hell, if we could have done that this year, we'd be playing in a freaking BCS bowl.

If we have a coach that fails to recruit, and we decide to keep him, then let's go all in! Do things his way and see what happens.

That is not my wish (I'd like Morris personally), but what do we have to lose? 30 point beatdowns at the hands of TAMU and Tech and TCU? I will pass.

Of course, this scenario means we make zero dollars in OOC - which for a small conference school like us, would be suicide.

again, just playing Devil's advocate.
I believe that only one FCS teams counts. Beating four FCS teams will do nothing toward getting ranked. I do agree that if we are stuck with JJ, we need to lower our OOC competition. Getting embarrassed by A&M or Baylor does nothing for the team. As I said earlier, we shouldn't be in this position and the reason we are is on JJ.
That's what Texas State, UTEP and UTSA are for
