I don't think we're claiming to have invented the word "magic", so unless Camden Yards goes by another name where you're from "Moody Magic" is still unique. "Moody Madness" has an explicit other reference point.
My point was not that others use Moody Madness or Moody Magic. My point was that we have already used Moody Madness at SMU for something totally different. We have not used Moody Magic for anything else to my knowledge.

"Moody Magic" just has the feel of another one of these forced and made-up "traditions" like the traditional home whiteout for football, the pony lasso, etc. They even had a trivia question at one of the basketball games this year about if it was true or false "Moody Magic" has been used to describe SMU basketball. It's barely been a month!
Plus, magic infers the paranormal and is associated with pagan worship and witchcraft, which is something with which SMU probably shouldn't willingly be associated.
But, it's going to be "Moody Magic" so hey, live and let live!

his strange shamanistic vibe was off putting long before I soured on him. It is his gimmick - worked great in the islands (see Born in June) but not here.
Whether for or against, we did it. We have a "Moody Magic" shirt. I don't want this to be an ad or promotion thing and I apologize if I offend anyone by posting this, but people had asked, so here it is:
