Except I said he should have been forced out by the NBA years ago for racially discriminatory housing practices, which is a lot worse and actually hurts people unlike what he said in a private conversation. But keeping throwing out your lame-brain, bombastic accusations- you've learned well from Stallion

From what I read somewhere, many of the owners wanted to get him out but they were afraid of the "slippery slope" that Mark Cuban mentioned in his interview. Supposedly, the only other time they removed an owner was back in the 80s when they removed the Cavs owner for something. Personally, I don't understand why this has blown up. It's been pretty much understood that Sterling was racist. My conspiracy theory on this is that Sterling was set up to be removed and he'll end up selling the team to a group led by...Magic Johnson. I'm sure Miss Stiviano got a little extra incentive under the table to release those recordings.

Question: Larry Johnson, now a Knicks exec, said this week that there should be an "all-Black" basketball league. Will he be disciplined for his remarks?

If it was understood that he was racist why didn't David Stern take action earlier. It seems a lot of people are trying to downplay or defect the subject to some conspiracy theory than deal with the question of why would Stern and the other owners would not take action when they knew this. Seems as if the focus should be on Stern and his non actions regardless of what they thought of Cuban. That is unless the owners really had no problem with a racist owning a team. Who knows, there may be more that just one racist owner in the NBA as well as the NFL.

There has never been a finding of fact that sterling engaged in violations of the fair housing act, not saying that silver isn't a racist but the NBA can't act on accusations.
My guess is if the vote of the owners is anonymous sterling can likely convince 7 of them to vote against the force sale of the team. It's a pretty dangerous precedent to set that one leak of a stupid comment can force you to have to sell a close to billion dollar asset. All of the owners are human so I'm sure they have said or done some stupid things in private that they would not want to go public. That said the mob mentality of having to purge anyone who expresses a non PC thought is strong enough that if the vote is public I could see all the owners going for it.

Was it non PC or flat out racist? I have found that in private people usually say what they really think. Do you believe based on what he said and done in his past and present that he is a racist or do you believe he may not be?

Re: Donald Sterling banned from NBA for life!!
Stepien was the Cavaliers owner from 80 to 84. His awful micromanagement of the Cavaliers led to the NBA instituting rules that forbade teams from trading away all the first round future draft picks. Yes he made racist remarks too but nothing on the order of this Sterling business. Doubtful the guy was "removed". Probably coaxed to leave. He was an embarrassment to the league and the city of Cleveland both.
In regards to other comments that all was known before about Sterling. Yes, much was known and Sterns not acting is a cause for concern in hindsight. However, hearing that tape was frightening. To actually hear someone go off like that. Much much more chilling that rumored innuendo or reading some passages deep within some court transcripts in a housing discrimination lawsuit.

This will be a unanimous slam dunk vote for expulsion. Racist morons are bad for business especially in the NBA.

Exactly. It's like if you owned a Subway and put hateful banners out front. Teams are called franchises for a reason.
