Apparently you don't or you wouldn't be whining about the tame banter that happens on Ponyfans.

Nope, sorry, my issues are 100% with you. Nice attempt to deflect though.

Let's just agree that our respective attachment to SMU is different. After hearing a reasonable perspective from Mark, I did view the situation differently. Hopefully the guys are excited and ready for a new level of play and expectations.

Turning the page and not coming back to this topic.

If I could, I would participate welcoming any team back. Whether the 80 Holiday Bowl team, the '83 Cotton Bowl champs, the 2003 0-12 Football team, the MBB after losing the NIT final or any other SMU team.

Welcome back is different from a parade. And I do believe the players appreciate the recognition. All players and coaches want to feel a part of the SMU community. A welcome back, win or lose, does just that. I know when the few fans and family meet us coming from a road game, it was very much appreciated.

The season was not a good one with some pretty bizarre goings on. I'm thankful this team pulled it together and avoided a winless season. I'm thankful the SMU administration went out and got a good coach and he has time to recruit.

And I would be happy to show my thanks to any team returning from an away game regardless of wining or losing.

Others can choice to do something else and of course I live so far away that I don't actually have to show up, just claim I would. But I have made efforts to show support and encouragement when possible and will continue to.

I don't know about Coach Morris but if he allows, I encourage all to go and witness a practice. It is educational and one feels part of the atmosphere and a bit more intimate with the team. And it allows one a better appreciation of what goes on to prepare for a game.

+1

No matter what. I always support those who have laid it out in the name of SMU. That is what you do when you support your teams.
