Markus Kennedy AP Markus Kennedy, SMU: He’s not a transfer — Kennedy missed the first semester as a result of academic issues — but if he gets the grades he needs, Kennedy will be joining the Mustang lineup on Saturday against Michigan. He will be the best big man in the AAC, but will it be too late to turn the conference into more than just a one-bid league?

My grades for my two grad classes were posted last night. I do have some former students who were still taking exams this week though. Tonight would be a good warm-up for Michigan, hope MK is in the line-up.

That reminds me.. Wondering if for MK to be eligible that means grades have to 'post', as in showing up on my.smu (used to be access). That usually doesn't happen until hours after the grades are submitted. If so, if they weren't up last night, we need the profs to submit this am
Lets put some numbers to this. Being a JR lets assume before the semester he had 60 credit hours (give or take of course). Considering the reports of him missing his requirement by .025 that means his GPA is 1.975. If he only took 4 classes this semester and got 1 B and 3 C's then his GPA would become 2.021. It really does not take much to influence the GPA at that level.
FYI - Billy Embody ‏@BillyEmbody 2 minutes ago An #SMU official told me there's no change in status as of now for F Markus Kennedy. MK has an exam today so I'm not expecting him to play.
"We're not a hurry-up no-huddle offense, we're a hurry-up no-huddle football team and program. It's gonna start with our secretaries, its gonna resonate with maintenance department, everyone, they're gonna understand what 'tempo' is all about."
- Final exam today - Grades post (tomorrow?) - Calculation of new GPA, then if increases enough to become eligible (Friday): - Whatever eligibility process that needs to take place (paperwork/some kind of submittal/who knows) starts Monday - then back ready to play whenever the above has completed
