Well, the article says he got there halfway through practice, so it sounds like he was not there for the start of practice.

Relax. Nic isn't going waltz in on a new team LATE. I'm sure he had something to do and bill was more than aware. And no coach is going to give props to a player for being late.
And you can't compare this to if Rose would have played for SMU that summer. We were terrible, and not Kansas. There will be more press about KU summer games than smu regular season games that year.

As much as others say this is a good thing, I still think it's incredibly odd. Having trouble thinking of one of our players playing on another college team.

I don't think what Hoopmanx is saying has anything to do with injury.

Part of me agrees with the several comments about the possibility of injury and I wonder as well if even a top grade athlete does not need a period off - or at least listening to the trainer rather than the coach - to heel the bumps and bruises even if no new hurts are sustained.
But this was a chance to play on a team representing our country and that is more rare than a chance to play on any college team and astronomically less common than playing for a HS team. I don't see how anyone, and certainly not former Olympic Gold Medalist LB, could deny him that opportunity.
Go Nic. And I hope you come back for a great last year at SMU.

I was wondering the same thing.
Who knows maybe it was a transportation issue or something. But we talkin' bout practice man, not a game.

I don't understand that at all. I was just talking w/a buddy of mine who is a huge Villanova fan. Solid, if not very good program over the years. Anyway, I ask him who are the top 5 Nova players of all time. The list is full of NBA guys like Kerrry Kittles, Randy Foye, Kyle Lowry, Doug West, Tim Thomas but no one that would ever polarize a recruit to the point of swaying them. Maryland is top 3 next year and loaded w/NBA talent, except they haven't had any NBA talent, outside of Alex Len, since the early 2000s(sorry Greivas.
You may need NBA success stories to grab lottery type kids, but you don't need lottery kids to be a final 4 threat. You need roughly 3 kids that can play in the league w/the right team/coach/system, not even league stars. You can get those kids in the 30-130 range every year. Just do that

I feel like we do well with the bottom half of that range. It is the 30 to 80 I would like to see more of.
