Sorry for the delayed reply. Been sick since Saturday night. Let's put a bow on this.
1. We're not moving the band. It's where they want to be. Playing back into the bowl and opposed to out of the bowl produces better sound. Plus, we want them near the students and we all saw how well the new seating and tent worked this week.
2. They are mic'd, but we will turn up the volume.

Sorry SID - but you are just wrong on the better sound thing. Probably because they are not playing back into the bowl - they are playing straight ahead and there is no reverb at all.
And it really shouldn't be up to them where they sit.
You really should move the band to the farthest south portion of the student section and slide the students down. And then next year think about moving that whole portion (students and band) south by a section.
It works in basketball - you give the students the best seats and they respond by coming and being rowdy. Noticed the ND/UT game the next day at ND - their students start at the 50 and go all the way to the end zone - but very good seats in general - and they are not much bigger than us.

I should have known that the band would somehow manage to be the #1 topic once football actually starts.
No. We couldn't hear them very well. We couldn't really hear the Baylor band either. Bleachers full of soft, absorbent human bodies making their own noises can have that effect. Unless anyone is willing to start writing large checks to the Diamond M Club to recruit people or can lend us a time machine to bring in some kids with "old-fashioned" attitudes, that's the way it's going to be.

I have a time machine but it's currently being used for greater purpose. Presently, the time machine is on a mission to determine the origin of the feral cat population on campus. Once that is completed, I think something involving mollusks is up next. I'll try to bump up the band during the next committe meeting. Might get it into the top 100 if I pull some favors.

This may be the weirdest post I've ever seen on Ponyfans and that is saying something

I am surprised to learn they are mic'ed. I honestly did not hear them at all during the game Saturday.
If they are going to play, we need to turn it up, man.

I didn't hear the band at all...we nailed a ton of first downs and was expecting "peruna" to be played and we couldn't hear it...

I sit on the 40 yard line south of midfield, and I never heard them once the game was kicked off. Baylor band, different story.

Dude has his own WDNWHA committee. Bully!
No...I'm not saying he is a bully, I'm supporting crazy asinine statements what somehow elicit anger from people who then heap venomous scorn on the original poster while saying his supposed anger is off-putting and a sign of some type of....oh [deleted], never-mind.

These days, you can't be sure Peruna is actually played on first downs though, unfortunately.

Crank up the mic x 20.
I also might be intrigued with a deal where any 1st and 2nd chair brass players in the Metroplex - who proved a proficiency with Peruna and Pony Battle Cry - could sit in with our band (no field performance). Might generate interest in the band and expand our sound volume???

Sorry gostangs, but you must be slightly directionally impaired. The band is currently as far south as you can get without being on the grass of the south end zone. you probably want them to move the band to the north end of the student section and slide the students south towards the tent.

Don't push students I to worse seats to move the band. Put the band out in the open end zone playing back in to the bowl.

Once #PonyUpTempo hits it's stride, there might not be any time for Peruna.
