Got told to sit down in 103 this last wee along with another dad his kids and some sorority girls. I was sitting in this section as I brought 10 people to the game with me so didn't sit in my normal 204 seats. In 204 I get told to sit down every week by people that seem so disinterested in the game I wonder even why they come.
I am also really tired of b*tching about this and I want to know how we get the University to put together some "rowdy" sections where we are allowed to stand and cheer throughout the game (except when our offense has a third down). These sections need to be in good areas near the 50 yard line and maybe some of this spirit will rub off on the rest of the crowd eventually.
Also game day presenation/coordination has to get better...if you went to the TCU game and then our home games you can see the difference of knowing when to let the band play, when to play "pump-up" music, etc.

Kinda surprised someone in 103 told you to sit down; I'm there with my dad, wife and daughter and all the folks around us are into the game, up on their feet and pretty loud. We did have some morons there for the JMU game (who I'm almost certain just grabbed empty slots towards the end), but none of them were dumb enough to try to tell anyone to sit down.

I honestly don't understand the need to stand in order to be loud. The focus should be on being loud at the right times, not just standing to stand. I guarantee you I can be every bit as loud sitting.

I can and am loud sitting, but I suspect there is a reason opera singers stand while doing their thing.

We stand up to cheer for the same reason we stand up to pee. We are real men.

You are allowed to stand anywhere you want. Had some guy in 104 asked me to sit down I told him no he said I was an a****** I said so what the cop came down and asked if it would be okay if I sat down once in awhile and I said nope.
I told the cop if the complainer could produce 104 tickets I would gladly sit down but guess who had endzone seats
He moved over to 103 haha
There should be a section for kids to stand the whole game.

I'm a mezzo-soprano but that's not why I like to stand and yell. I'm just a little bit active and like to move around. I'll exercise for 2 hours today.
I won't get to be there in person this time but there will be others in my place for the whole game cheering for SMU!

SMU is the complete opposite of a football environment and has been for 25 years. And it ain't changing for a very long time, if at all. I've already accepted that.

We've had some moments. Opening night of Ford Stadium vs Kansas proved to me that our fan base CAN get excited

Why do you think that is?
