So UH announces a design but not funding or ground breaking and they are all of a sudden way ahead of us in this, but we show a design to recruits and funders and we have no ground to stand on. Got it.

The difference is that we all know the UH timeline because of the buyout clause of Herman's contract:
If the IPF is not approved by 9/1/2016, buyout is reduced by 25%.
If it is not at or near completion by 12/1/2017, buyout is reduced by 50%.
If it is not completed by 12/1/2018, buyout is reduced by 75%.
You can debate whether he leaves or not anyway, but UH will do everything they can to keep him or at least have a higher buyout if he does leave.

That may be, but a decent IPF is worth a ton more than just ponying up a bunch of money for the next coach.
IPF - 50 million.
Most expensive G4 coach - about 2.5 million. you do the math. Let him go and pay the next guy 4 million and you are way ahead of the game.

Since some say SMIU is ahead of Houston then SMU's should be complete by 12-1-18. We'll see who is more committed SMU or Houston.

Houston news will certainly increase the feeling of urgency which is a good thing. I'd be happy if ours simply breaks ground first but 12-1-18 is still a long way out. That would mean CM coaches 4 seasons without it.

Herman will be gone by the end of 2016 so they cannot do anything more now to reduce the buyout.

Was listening to a show the other day and they were discussing whether Texas or Texas A&M would fire Strong or Sumlin first so they could get Herman. They both want him so if either start to slip in the least they think they will cut the cord to get him.

A blank sheet of paper is more of a thing than a cell phone picture of a power point slide show.
