Provident is getting rolled. Not getting any good bounces

Per Kenpom

SMU's Offensive Efficiency: 11th
SMU's Defensive Efficiency: 28th

USC's Offensive Efficiency: 49th
USC's Defensive Efficiency: 86th

We're significantly better than when we played USC in LA, and now we're on a neutral court. Let's do this.

I was at the game in November in LA. I remember thinking that last year's squad would have won that game. Now I know that our current team (minus fatty and other aussie) is better and we should win Friday.

Both teams have gotten better since they last played. Going to be a tough game for both teams imo.

Wont be a neutral court, should be a very pro-SMU crowd

Keep in mind that USC had some injuries mid season that hurt. They got healthy at the end and were able to knock off UCLA...

So I just finished watching the Providence USC game. Even when they were up by 17 I wanted providence I have no idea why USC stayed in that 2-3 zone for the whole first half. Providence was stuck in their zone even after USC figured it out because they were getting killed on the pick and roll with boatwright in man.

That said, we have the athleticism with BM and semi to guard boatwright on the perimeter and their pick and roll. Also since we will be in man we shouldn't give up so many rebounds like providence did. I'd also love for USC to play that 2-3 zone against us.

USC played UCLA within 2 on a neutral court last week in the Pac-12 tourney. This will not be an easy game for us. Boatwright is a player.

Boatwright is the key. It's all you, Ben.

It's not going to be easy, but you could see USC's flaws in this game and there is a reason they fell behind by 17 to a very mediocre team. Boatwright is a good player but providence did not have a big athletic enough to guard him in man on the perimeter (we have 2) plus I'll like with any of our guards switching on him out there. Boatwright also forces/settles for his three ball and he is very mediocre when it isn't completely uncontested. Finally providence got killed because they couldn't stop that guard from driving the lane against the zone. Basically I'm not worried about any of those problems. Plus zero chance they can play so big against us. What do you think will happen when that freshman white kid has to be out on the perimeter against semi BM or foster?
