The Methodist Church had little to do with university policy. Pye was an anti-big time sports guy from the word go. He was brought in by a then newly powerful group of anti Division 1 faculty who had been waiting for the opportunity to dump football for years. He was their guy. A small group of alums held the whole thing together financially for years. Remember the "Cornerstone Package?" A lot of us committed to 4 years of pre-purchased season tickets in order to show Pye that someone cared about being Division 1. He did little to reciprocate, especially when he told the world and all recruits at a press conference that we did not intend to compete for the SWC title on a year-in-year-out basis.

We need to put on a full court press for this kid!

I heard Purdue coach Matt Painer interviewed today. Asked about the NCAA in light of the FBI investigation.
