I know there is a lot of Chad hate on this board, but I said early on and will continue to argue that Chad Morris has managed his career really well. Certainly appears the Peter Principle has caught up to him, but how sweet is it to nurse your broken ego by collecting 10 million over the next 3 years while figuring out what you want to do next!

Do we want Memphis' coach to move on or for their sake, and possibly for the good of the AAC, to have Memphis retain Norvell if Arkansas makes a run at him? Even if he was pursued, I don't see Sonny jumping into that dumpster fire in Arkansas!

Agreed...anybody that figures out how to get $10 Million for failing miserably in their job, certainly has managed their career well....I doubt many of us on this board will ever sniff a $10 millon dollar severance package.

I don't think Norvell is interested in Arkansas.

As much as HCCMΓÇÖs departure rubbed me the wrong way, I wished him success. I didnΓÇÖt understand the choice of Arkansas, but thatΓÇÖs neither here nor there. WeΓÇÖve moved on and heΓÇÖs been plowed under. A ton of our guys are still his recruits and weΓÇÖre 9-1. I havenΓÇÖt seen this in my SMU tenure. He did good things for us, changing the culture, after ΓÇ£he who shall not be namedΓÇ¥. We were such a total dumpster fire at that point I missed Coach Rossely. Good luck in your future endeavors coach Morris.

Right now, I just want to enjoy what weΓÇÖve got going on and donΓÇÖt want to re-litigate HCCMΓÇÖs leaving. Sonny is the one who is finally making it happen, so IΓÇÖm going to stand behind him.

Does this mean the Ben Hicks to HOgs thread is now dead?

Many expressed dismay when CH took the Arkyland job. He moved into the P5 too fast it seemed. He probably needs a bit more seasoning. But then look at Coach O at Ole Miss and now at LSU. Redemption does happen.

Scrolling through Twitter tonight, and there are a lot of good Texas recruits "opening up their recruitment" tonight after having been committed to Arkansas. It'll be interesting to see how the combination of the coaching carousel and our recent success affect our recruiting class. I would assume that the transfer portal is going to be rocking as coaches come and go, and our newfound success will allow us to recruit some high school guys that didn't even know where SMU was a year ago.

It's a great time to be a Mustang.

USC might regret letting him get away. That team played really well for Orgeron in his brief stint as the Interim HC.

Maybe, but I think we can all agree Orgeron belongs at LSU.

I literally don't think he would be understood anywhere else.

Yes, but that was before Arky got pounded by Western Kentucky and The Prized Pig was placed on the rotisserie.

Not dead; just relocated to "Around the Hilltop" . Unlikely to ever surpass "Burger Wars"

Perfect fit and I'm glad to see him having success there. Those SEC coaches seats get hot easily.

His son was headed to Arkansas. Any chance we can make a run at him?
