They kicked out a**. I lost count of the alley oops they dropped on us, and we had another Smith win the game almost single handed. I really thought this would be a game that we could win at home and put us on a path to the tournament. Oh well, next year…….

Disappointing game, disappointing crowd (would have thought the place would be packed but maybe our fans didn't recognize Louisville is another basketball blue blood?) Reyne Smith came with Kelsey from College of Charleston where he was a designated gunner from 3 point range but maybe our guys didn't know that? Hepburn did whatever he wanted to and ran the show really well. Once again we got schooled by a much better team and our guards, with the exception of Edwards, looked a little frazzled and forced things too often and shot poorly once again when they were forced to play at a hurried pace under defensive pressure.

Now onto a stretch of games that hopefully will be really competitive against teams more our caliber and level of talent. Our 5 ACC wins have come against the 4 teams at the bottom of the conference standings so it will be interesting to see how we do against other programs that might have NIT level talent.

Attendance was 600 more than GA Tech but 8:00 weeknight tip and cold weather may have impacted actual attendance. UofL's fast start, and dominance, impacted the crowd energy.

Louisville took the crowd out of that game almost immediately. I just hate seeing all the empty courtside seats in Moody, especially for a game of this magnitude. I wish we had a larger and more engaged student section (like they have been able to build in Ford). I've always thought a rowdy student section can help get the rest of the crowd engaged

We were missing layups. Short shots, 3 pointers. Louisville was altering shots and we just never got our legs under us. Plus Smith canning those 3s (unguarded most of the time), didn't help get the crowd going. So, let's hope we can move forward against similar teams.

The students showed up last night and both student sections were full. Unfortunately most left at half time due to the score.

The relatively small number of students courtside is my complaint (not how many fill the seats that have been made available to them). I'm old and was at SMU in the early 70's when Moody was an exact replica of Duke's Cameron Indoor. The entire lower section was pull out bleachers like Cameron and I remember attending big games where we stood the entire time the game was being played. I like to think we helped SMU win a SWC Championship in David Miller's SR year. I love the downsized Moody but look forward to a season when SMU can compete with (and beat) Duke, UNC, Louisville and whoever else might build an ACC contender and Moody is packed to the gills with SRO crowds

I thought it was a good crowd last night, but unfortunately the game was over in the blink of an eye. I think we are all remembering the LB days when the rafters were shaking, and the students were in crazy costumes and going wild. A little perspective is needed here. We opened new Moody by thrashing UConn and then kept ascending to heights we hadn't witnessed since the Dave Bliss era. I firmly believe that we will get back to that, but we went into a downward spiral after LB, and it's going to take a team winning meaningful games to make Moody rock again.
