So true. We will have a hard time beating anyone if the penalties continue. Hopefully we pull it together soon. RL didn’t look too pleased at the end. I was disappointed Kevin played as long as he did, especially w/the injuries happening.ponyte wrote: Sun Aug 31, 2025 9:12 am LSU made great adjustments at half. Shutting down Clemson in the second half is no small accomplishment. SMU did similar in the ACC conference championship. Just didn't finish the game.
Over on TigerNet there is meltdown for many. Need a new OC, HC, etc. Blamed Klubnik's performance on OL, receivers, OC, play calling. Agree a loss to a top 10 team early in the season isn't a season killer. A Clemson win over a top 10 SEC team would have been huge, though. Would have brought a bit of early season respect for the conference.
We really need to pick up our game. Baylor looked sharp against Auburn. We looked pedestrian at best. Lots of mistakes and poor execution. Yes, very plain game plan as was expected. Still, we could have been more crisp in execution. And we didn't take long to get the SMU tradition of selfish personal foul unsportsmanlike like conduct penalty. That's just embarrassing!
Lashlee and his staff have some work to do this week or it will be a bitter result against Baylor.

I think Kalen DeBoer's days at Alabama are numbered. They looked listless and unprepared. That was Bama's 4th loss to an unranked opponent in the last 14 games.
He should have stayed at UW. Money isn't everything.

Yes - ECU hates UNC at least as much as it hates NCSU. ECU is a regional, nearly open admission state school. So ECU has a a powerful sense of inferiority that way that becomes central to hating the prestigious NC ACC schools, especially UNC and NCSU. I have long said that neither of us should play ECU ever again in football and maybe any sport. Too much trouble for to little value.Dukie wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 9:16 amCharleston is right about NCSU-ECU. And ESPN also listed it as a prominent "under the radar" rivalry this week. It's more that ECU hates any NC ACC team, but they're geographically and culturally closest to NCSU and those teams play fairly regularly. ECU always overplays its talent level in those matchups, and it's never a given that State will win. Glad they did.peruna81 wrote: Thu Aug 28, 2025 9:25 pm Wolfpack hangs on...maybe ECU was their "Nevada game"...
Duke still toying with the Musks...

I'm afraid Duke's OL looks godawful. Eight days before #12 Illinois comes to town. Hope they figure it out.

Notre Dame has gotten all the calls. Worst refs I've ever seen since yesterday.

I pick the one that works better for the ACC; go Canes! (Ugh.)peruna81 wrote: Sun Aug 31, 2025 8:13 pm Well, Notre Dame and Miami....

Decent showing for the conference. Wins against ND and Bama are impressive but we could have used one more big win.
I’ll give the ACC a ‘B’ for the week.

I thought the ACC acquitted itself well. In addition to Miami and FSU winning big games, GT won at Colorado. I was kind of impressed with Syracuse vs Tenn, and VT was very competitive for much of the game vs SC. Both of those games featured mid-grade ACC teams vs ranked SEC teams. The only real blemish was the Clemson game.leopold wrote: Sun Aug 31, 2025 10:29 pm Decent showing for the conference. Wins against ND and Bama are impressive but we could have used one more big win.

I would say if the Fighting Belichicks beat Whooville tomorrow, the ACC gets an "A".

It is only the media, led by ERSPN trashing the ACC, that thinks Big XII football is better than the ACC. The ACC's top 3 or 4 are better than their Bug XII counterparts, and the ACC middle is better. Both bottoms toes are weak.Charleston Pony wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 7:22 pm Colorado scores 1st at home against Ga Tech and goes up 7-0. This is another game the ACC really needs to win as the ACC and Big XII argue which conference is the 3rd best football conference this year (assuming of course the B1G and SEC continue to rack up wins in their non-conference slates)
The most important thing is that the ACC be valued the most by TV. And Disney/ESPN holding the ACC hostage does not prove that the ACC is off low value but the opposite: Disney is cheating the ACC now because it can get away with for a while. On the open market, even this ACC with Wake, is worth more than this Big XII.
But we should not be satisfied with that. We should act aggressively to become the clear #3 value. That ay, if the Sec and BT do crate a separate Tier for their football, the ACC MUST be included even o the Big XII is left out.

Yes. Not an important as GT beating Colorado though. That was GT overcoming the altitude problem and beating media beloved Neon Deon's team. UNC is at Home. But it is Belichicks first game as CFB coach.

Re: Other games of interest
The whole reason everyone is talking about the “impending demise” of the ACC and not the Sizeable 12 is because the ACC has teams/brands that the SEC and B1G actually want. The Above-Avg 12 doesn’t have that “problem”, so they have a better chance of staying intact in any kind of proposed realignment.
