I thought KP had a good amount of pressure, especially late. 5 sacks and I don't know how many knockdowns. The WRs also looked covered, especially early on. There were open receivers, though.

Also, Al was gone if that pass hadnt been alligator armed and picked. I'm sure KP will learn from it.

Al was the 2nd leading receiver with 7 yards less than leading receiver Beasley. As RGV said, a little more oomph on the one long pass and AR would have had over 100 yds receiving.

I haven't looked at the stats yet. I don't recall him catching that many balls - maybe I had too many drinks during the game

We were missing the big WR play that we saw the last 1/2 of last year. - over the middle or down the sideline

Yeah, that would give the team another home game and a much better opportunity to build confidence, fine-tune and most importantly start 1-0.

Plus Robinson also beat his man on another play and could have caught a pass for a long TD but the DB decided to tackle him early because he knew he was beat. 15 yard penalty instead TD was a good trade. That's two big potential plays with big play potential

As a Tech fan/alum who attended the game, I have to say I was very impressed with the overall effort of SMU's team. They played tough and never gave up. I was very concerned after the Ponies scored their last touchdown. Some of Padron's passes were off line, but he had some good ones in there. You can tell SMU is missing having the receivers they had at the Hawaii Bowl. I think he'll be great after he gets some more experience. What impressed me the most, however, was the quality of SMU's defense, particularly against the run. Tech's running backs couldn't get anywhere, particularly between the tackles.
