TA who had us NR last week, will have us ranked this week. One of his reasons for the NR was that one of our losses was to Michigan, who just beat a #11 Wisconsin team he also had at #11. He also had Florida State at #19 last week, who got whooped by Pitt.

I never got a response from PM. But he had Florida State at #10?!?!? and Wisconsin at #14.

Think we are going to move up 2 at the most. Two dodgy wins on our end and everyone around us didn't drop too many games.

We beat Tulane by about 5 and Houston by about 10. I would be surprised if even 40% of these posters even knew that we trailed by double digits in either of these games. I don't think that the final score of the Tulane games hurts us at all - it's a W.

There were a few top 25 teams that struggled against pretty poor teams, maybe not as bad as Tulane, but bad nevertheless, who ended up with the W. Tulane was shooting over 50% and we were shooting 25% from the field, just based on those two statistics alone, there would have been quite a number of better teams (if not all) behind at half.

I think we are at 17 at best, and not even sure we deserve that. We have not played a full game since Cincy. But please don't take that as me being disappointed in this team. I think it's the gutsiest group we've had. Amazing what we've done with 6-7 players. So proud of this team. Very excited about the rest of this season. Having a week break here is at a great time. Hope we come out blazing against UConn, take it to Tulsa, and then wrap up a reg season championship against the tiggers.

Speaking of Tulane and close scores against weak teams, did anyone see the WBB score of the Tulane- UConn game? They almost stopped the record.

I also bet that most of those in the poll have no idea of how bad Tulane actually is. To them, Tulane might as well be Coastal Carolina, Pepperdine or University of Denver, but with a much stronger academic reputation and history. I doubt that they bother to look it up.

Surprisingly, moving to #17 actually makes sense this week. UVa and FSU both had 2 losses and moved below us. The only other possibility was sneaking ahead of Wisconsin which lost to Michigan earlier in the week, but they did turn around and beat Maryland - enough to drop below Cincy, but not us.

We will just have to beat Cincy in the rubber match to move ahead of them (assuming that both teams win out otherwise). You can argue that we have the edge in head to head, but their overall resume' is a little better than ours.
