But you have to admit he has a point on attendence from the greeks - particularly at basketball - I am always amazed how a red blooded american college guy can possibly not care about football and basketball games on his own campus. I say that as someone whose best memories (albiet some were fuzzy memories) of college life revolve around my fraternity. But we went to almost everything - these guys today see like big wussies. there is no excuse

Look, student attendance sucks. I know that. But to think of it as some kind of greek problem is ridiculous. While I agree that greeks shouldn't schedule parties that conflict with attending a game and would endorse a policy that punished a fraternity or sorority that did so, the fact is that studends, greek and non-greek do not go to games. And the reason they don't go is the same-the teams are not very good and they play schools no one cares about. As soon as SMU puts a product out there worth caring about, the students will care. Even at A&M, when they we losing last year, the people didn't go. It is ridiculous to expect otherwise.
