we have the pony express... they are unsure what their mascot is: an eagle or a not very nice color

A. Very nice. I hope you don't mind if I take credit for that one myself when I use it in the future, in conjunction with , or as an alternative to, my blackballed from the conference gag.
i feel honored... the great jtstang wants to use my material...

Apparently you are not familiar with jtstang's modus operandi.

At least we'll have a program. The word is that if SMU doesn't reach a bowl this year, football will be dropped altogether. No one cares. Not even your own fans. You could see that at the game Saturday night. Now that should worry you. Then again, maybe you all don't even care.

Actually we won and had more fans there than you, even though you are right, traditionally people aren't going to care as much playing such a monolithic figure in the college football world as NTSU. So you lose, we win, 28-4-1, go back to the grill, the fries are nearly overdone.

What kind of weed are ya'll smoking up there in Denton these days?

Whatever 'word' you're getting is wrong. Football will remain on the SMU campus forever. Period.

Now...as for no one caring...you're posting messages on a board where there are people who actually do care...yes, we're in the minority. We'll be the first to admit that SMU fandom is not the greatest in the world but, by God, there are those of us who do give a [deleted] about it.

The 'Pony Up!' advertising/marketing campaign can be seen around Dallas on billboards, lightpoles, TV & radio ads, Internet banner ads, etc. There is 'interest' in what's going on on The Hilltop by the casual observer whom SMU officials intend to turn into 'fans'.

I want to see both SMU and UNT have good, solid football programs because I'm sick & tired of those Frogs over in Cowtown having the monopoly. SMU, UNT & TCU should be able to equally attract fans from other schools who have moved to the Metroplex and cannot make it back to their alma maters on Saturdays.

Last Saturday's game was fun, exciting and - at times - heartbreaking for both teams. I would like to see the series with UNT continue in order to attract more fans from around the Metroplex to either Ford Stadium or to Denton each year.

Good game last Saturday, MeanGreen/Eagles...you've got a good coach in Dodge...it will be interesting to see how long he remains committed to UNT. Frankly, I don't think he'll stay there more than a couple of years before moving on to 'greener' pastures.

Oh, yeah...if you guys up in Denton have any pull with the schedulers...put Sam Houston State on your schedule for next year. Thanks! :)
