any reason why Givens wanted to go? Did he not think the school had his back during the meningitis?

Knee jerk reaction on his part that had nothing to do with JJ. Givens would have loved the opportunity to play for JJ. He never liked it here from the beginning. It was just the right time for him to go. God Bless him and his family.

BigDaddy and Alaric hit the nail on the head. Givens gave a lot of himself for us, and went through a hellacious medical issue. All the best, No. 4.

First of all, J Willis is a great athlete. I just don't share the same level of love that Stallion and the others have for him. To say he didn't regress this year would be ridiculous. Furthermore the whole "career record" thing needs to stop. Some people might want to take another look at those stats. Chuck Hixson was hanging 300 yards on teams like Texas and Ohio State. It's really great that J Will is lighting up Memphis and Tulsa. That's like being impressed by your friend who sleeps with 100 girls but 95 of them are fat. As for his rushing yards/ attempts, maybe if he progressed through more than the first read those might be a little different. What do records say about leadership? I know the past always looks better, but I don't remember Mike Romo or Lance Mac throwing their helmets or yelling at their teammates and coaches as consistently as J Will seems to. There was clearly a culture problem last year, and clearly a coaching problem which I'm sure was pretty frustrating. J Will doesn't have a true stud in the backfield with him like previous QBs did. But the team we all want to do well has been so bad, that NO player should have a guaranteed job next year, and no player should be above criticism. Hopefully he lights it up next year in the new system, but let's hold out on some of the accolades until the team he pilots gets the job done.

I don't know if I agree with your logic. To me, it's depends how hot the other 5 were.
