Here's a report on Banditos in Snider Plaza. Went there for an early father's day dinner on Saturday night. I had the new Bevo's Beach Party (or BBP for short). I didn't mind the name so much as I imagined I was actually consuming that stupid cow. It was shrimp and mushrooms and cheese wrapped in flank steak. Huge portion that I had a hard time finishing. Also had the Ethyl Margarita. Nice.

Bob Armstrong dip is amazing!
Their other food is not so good. This place is way overhyped - I guess it's the location. Mattito's is better.
It is funny how different all the restaurants are - we have so many and all have different dishes, drinks, queso, or salsa that is better.
Has anyone tried the new place off Oak Lawn - is a chain from Houston?
Best Queso - Texadelphia and Matt's/Mattitos.
Best Brisket Tacos - Mias
Best Fajitas? - Chuys maybe
Best Dish - 911 Plate at Chuys
Solid: Manny's, Mias, Mi Co, Taco Diner Breakfast, Fuel City Tacos are the bomb

A buddy took me to the new place off Oaklawn. He's interested in having them open some new locations in some of his centers. Its very, very nice. Fairly expensive. Great wine list. Food was good. It would probably make a good date place. Valet parking, which is key.

Ninfa's is the only Tex-Mex restaurant from Houston that's branched out. Unsuccessfully, I might add.Junior wrote:Eddie P wrote:Pony_Fan wrote:SMU Football Blog wrote:Matt's Rancho Martinez is mentioned above and I highly recommend. It is Lakewood. When I lived in Houston, I frequented Pappasito's on I-45 at AirTex often. Not bad Tex-Mex. Equivalent to Dallas' El Fenix, imo. There's a Pappasito's on North Central Expressway (Hwy. 75) between Spring Valley & Belt Line Road in Richardson. There's also one on the North Dallas Tollroad, north of Addison.redpony wrote:Pappacita's is from Houston and is part of the Pappa's chain of restaurants. I thought they had them in Dallas? Not so? However IMHO their Tex-Mex is just average or a little above.

No difference- just my bad spelling or bad memory. BTW if any of you want some really good Tex-Mex food when you go to Houston visit Lopez Mexican restaurant. It's at Wilcrest and 59 near Sugarland. Food is good, service is very fast and the price is great. Used to go there almost every Friday for dinner. Go early for meals or plan on waiting a while- they get very busy at both lunch and dinner.
