I don't think it was headed toward a brawl — just a bunch of jawing, really — but I think El Presidente and Steve-O were both in the house for the post-game dance.

He had two critical turnovers in the final 8 minutes too, which led to 5 points.
They pressed us and we had nobody to handle the ball besides DW. Then he started to play poorly too down the stretch. McCoy is flat out afraid to even shoot the ball now. So weird. He had quite a few open looks and turned the ball over at the worst times. I don't know what you do with him at this point, he's had plenty of time to get his mojo back (despite what is going on in his personal stuff).
All the calls went their way in the last 5 minutes - fouls, 3 pointers...everything.
We are just like the old fball team, very good at giving games away and not believing in each other. They had a great rhythm going tonight and it was the best I've seen in a while.

Yes, almost went to blows on both sides. pretty crazy. Seemed like Davis has too many coaches - they were all yelling the whole time. Their team had no class at all.

Not true. Coach Doherty's postgame interview is broadcast on the radio, but it also is piped into Moody over the PA, and UAB coach Mike Davis was standing right there when Coach Doherty was being interviewed. Looked like the announcers were taking the high road and not baiting Coach D into saying something that would be uncomfortable for either coach.

Are you talking about his radio interview?
He was asked by about it by print media later.
and he responded by saying...
Don't have my notes in front of me, but the gist was:
(PARAPHRASING) I've won a lot of big games, and there is a right way to celebrate a win. UAB should have celebrated a comeback like that, but it seemed like they took it a step too far — that's not the way we teach it at SMU. We teach our guys how to celebrate success, and how to handle disappointment. When someone kicks sand in your face, I'm going to stand up for my team. (What did UAB coach Mike Davis say to you when you talked to him?) That's between us. I have respect for Mike. I like Mike. But I love my brother, too, and we fought, too. You get over it and move on (or something to that effect).

Why is UAB coach Mike Davis was standing right there when Coach Doherty was being interviewed during, and after obvious official referee attempts to influence the game lol:
OK, he wasn't standing "right there" — like within a few feet of Coach Doherty — but he was on the floor, talking to some UAB fans. Definitely within earshot.
