I was beginning to think the same thing

Recruits aren't all that smart, that's your reality. You tell them they get huge minutes early, if they are as good as you think they are, and that we're going to smack some fools. Then, when the roster loads up in '11, we're gonna schedule up, make a run, and showcase them. Recruiting is spin. You know we're calling the princeton , 4 out and 1 in.

You may be right on your assessment of recruits not being "all that smart", but I hope not. I would hope they are smart enough to look at the whole program and that includes the competition.

I wish Doh well for the coming season, but after spending 5 days on campus between the UAB and WSU games I could not find anyone connected with the athletic department who even wanted to discuss the basketball program. Most just wanted the topic to be left alone without comment. I took that attitude and stance to be very problematic as there was little enthusiasm or energy surrounding the program.

If they do that and if that kid from the Houston area comes here and plays well and then we get this 4-star kid, not only will I be shocked but may need CPR.

And if they plow through this crappy schedule with a decent recent record and somehow end up in the CBI or CTI business, Doherty's not going anywhere.

that's pretty much the story.

Doh could help himself a ton by getting two more in the early period, not just one. Nobody thought a 'lame duck' staff, with dysfunctional road presence in July, would net 4 in the early period.

I've got a lot of IFs in that previous statement.

I guarantee you that if we roll that pathetic OOC schedule, and are like 12-2 heading into conference, nobody will care who we beat. There will be some optimism etc. It beats everyone jumping ship after losing to A&M in the first game last year.

Important parts bolded. You didn't prove that PonyDoh didn't see it coming.

Other than the fact I am bored and still laying in bed, I have no idea why I just read this entire thread. But good God.....what a mess. This program has come a long way in 5 years.
