They rarely mention us as a canddiate, when they do, everyone says we sucks....frankly I can understand the fear, but both teams can co-exist and benefit one another....
However on equal ground now that we got our act together we would crush them and baylor...so I can understand why we are always shot down by both of them...
UT doesn't want either of us because they don't want the North schools playing another game in DFW. Especially OU, OSU and Mizz. Stoops and OU/OSU admins have stated this is critical in the last 72 hours. Hence the sudden Frog love. I still put our chances at less the 50/50.
It has nothing to do with what we supposedly bring regarding dollars. Big 12 TV partners allegedly told Chirp Brown that TCU is an adequate replacement for aggy to maintain the same payout. I would say that brings value.
I hate TCU, thats why I would prefer to stop talking about them....
They committed we didn't....now we pay the price...Im depressed and pissed, however I dont think this is the end of all this stuff, we got 5 years to double down and make a case...
Yep that's what I've been saying-folks its all about access to recruiting Texas. The North schools desperately want more access-OU and OSU will demand to both be in the South to gain access. Therefore, is there really another alternative than TCU to replace A&M in the South if the Big 12 goes to 12. I guess you could add BYU from the west. Now if they stop at 10 I think TCU's chances are negligible. Plus I guarantee you the Networks are telling the Big 12 not to do anything to mess up the Texas/OU/OSU rivalries which are the money games they are paying for. The remaining South teams must stay intact if the Big 12 goes to 12.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Ask Baylor. Before our game this year they could care less if they played us again. After the game they are clamoring for the rivalry to continue regardless of conference affiliations. Their fanbase was energized and we generally bring enough people to keep it that way. Much like our game against you guys last year. They stormed the field. That is what rivalries are all about. Epic game and atmosphere.
I agree, but Baylor bought out of our game this year, and I suspect TAMU will do the same next year. Baylor wants the rivalry now b/c you are on the cusp of AQ, and it means something. Baylor and UH should be rivals but I don't even know if they play each other every year.

Beacuse I'm a petty, jealous bast@rd. And because we should have been hopping conferences and beginning our rebirth 10 years ago, not 3. If TCU goes B12, I sure hope the BE is still around to snatch us up.
I was in school when TCU's lone win of the season came against us. People have such short memories, and they think TCU has been good forever. Blows my mind.
Only the young guys don't remember. I certainly do and was there. You know it is a rivalry when you tear down the goal posts after your only win. You guys would have gone to a bowl.
Our security maced people off the goal posts but the swarm was to big. It looked like roaches falling after getting sprayed with Raid. It was sad and funny at the same time. The incident made the Newscast Sunday Night. I recorded it and we (fan group) try to watch it the week of the game every year at the tailgate.

I played in that game in '97 as a senior and always wonder what may have happened if SMU would have won that game and gone on to a bowl game. How might history have been altered? Would TCU have gone to the Sun Bowl next year? In this way I can claim to have played a major role in the re-birth of TCU football.

i blame you for keeping SMU football down for so long
Basically, if he has his say, WVU and Loserville need not apply. Although, adding WVU would give Tech one school in-conference they could unload some academic smack on.

There we go, we've been needing a new scapegoat for a while.
