Would I then have to yell "Up in back!"?

This could only happen if we had a game special encouraging SMU football fans to bring their dogs or cats to the game and have male groomers ready to tend to your pets. Then one could switch sides at half time. It would be entitled, "East End Sorority Girls and West End Frat Boys" sponsored by the Pet Shop Boys. God I need a life.

For the vast majority of the students at SMU, they didn't decide to attend SMU because of sports. We suck by in large in all sports except for a few non revenue sports for decades. The kids that are SMU student's now have never seen SMU win consistently and play good football until the last 3 years. Seniors had never seen SMU do anything well. These kids have to learn what winning is like and about. These kids have to learn what to do at a game where SMU expects to win and does win.

Student support has gradually improved over the last 4 years. And 4 years ago the best a student could expect was to sing Varsity with the depressed team after another dismal defeat.

Give these kids a chance to learn how to win and support a winner.

almost all of the games are tv games. You should start the movement by buying east side season tickets next year

Four students (2 guys, 2 girls) were sitting in front of me in Sec. 104 on about the 10th row during the 2nd half. With about 7:00 remaining in the game, they started to leave. I asked "Where are you going?" and one of the guys said, "Game's over." I said, "Really? Clock says 7:00 left." His reply was "Come on. We won." I said, "Son, I've seen too many SMU games over the years to take ANYTHING for granted!" He gave me a quizzical look. Then I said, "You might miss one of the GREATEST plays in SMU history if you leave now. Did you ever think about that?" HIs reply was "Not really." And there you have it. (How many people had left the SMU v Texas Tech game when Bobby Leach made his famous last-minute TD run?)

It's so sad that SMU students (and many alumni) are not in the stadium to sing "Varsity" and the national anthem before the game. And I stay at an SMU game until the SMU Mustang Band packs up their instruments and leaves. That's when I know it's time for me to leave, too. No matter what the score may be.

I have stayed until the end of every game to sing the Varsity this season (except Memphis because I was here that weekend). This game, however, is boring and hot.

Wait, we played AT Memphis.

Yes, I sang the Varsity at the end of the A&M, UTEP, NW State, and TCU games. I sang the Varsity on TCU's field with Pres Turner and took some of their turf home. I didn't go to Memphis, and left UCF early.

Sounds good to me. You go to more games than most people then.
