It would make a lot of sense to me, if anyone wanted a partnership and wanted a natural rivalry, to take us and Boise and put us in the league...you'd have two excellent football teams, and I think people would be surprised at what would happen."

The billion-dollar question is: Will the league retain its Automatic Qualifier (AQ) status or lose it to the Conference USA-Mountain West alliance? Several sources said the Big East would remain more attractive because it doesn't have any bottom-feeder schools such as New Mexico.

byu has been turned down by the pac 10 and big 12.
the only aq conference they can get in is the be.
unless they want to stay indie the be is the only game in town.
there are more bottom feeders tha unm. about 12 in all between cusa and mwc.
